Question about JVC Televison & Video
The fix for this is to enter the closed caption section of the menu and adjust the text mode from T1 or whatever it is on now to off ,or cc or closed caption to off. this will get the box off of there. i see the blacked out area all the time caused by the closed captioning text mode. Perhaps there is a button on the remote for C.C. The black box means you have accidentally turned on one of the closed caption options called "Text." This function of closed caption is practically never used. If it were operational, there would be text inside this black box.
Just go into the TV's menu, look at the Audio options, and turn Close Caption and/or Text off. There may be a button right on the remote, But that should fix it.
Let me know,if needed further assistance.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Hey, on the JVC remote there is also a " C.C. " button
and it's located above the volume. Clicking this will allow you to set
the closed caption to off. you can't turn it off from the menu button.
