There are many ways to unlock a phone. you can unlock it using software or hardware or through codes. if you ask me the codes are the best way to unlock it. unlocking through codes is the best and simple way to unlock any phone. i got my phone unlocked through this method only. you can get the codes either from your service provider or from any other service providers. getting codes from your service provider can be got only if your phone is within 6 months. i got the codes from a third party Mobile-Unlocker.com provider since my phone is much older.

Hi,

Let me give you a little background and then some solutions. This is generic because I don't know your carrier. I'm using ATT as an example.

Phones are naturally unlocked, but a service provider might lock them

When originally manufactured, all GSM cell phones are unlocked. That is, they can be used with any SIM from any cellphone service provider - always assuming, of course, that the cellphone service provider has compatible GSM service on the same frequency bands that the phone can operate on.

Most cell phone service providers electronically 'lock' the phone so that it can only be used with their service. There are obvious reasons why they choose to do this - in particular, to force you to pay what are usually very high roaming charges when you take your phone out of their network and use it elsewhere in the world.

Fortunately, this locking is reversible. With some phones, it is possible to simply enter an unlocking password code into the phone and it is immediately then unlocked. Other phones need to be connected up to a special unlocking data terminal.

Your phone has to be unlocked by the carrier. LG, Motorola, Sony Ericsson, Nokia and most of their ilk, will not give consumers the unlock codes but don't despair.

A PUK (PIN Unlock Key) code is required to unlock SIM cards that have become locked following three successive incorrect PIN entries. If your SIM card becomes locked, you will need to get a PUK code from your carrier. For example, if you have AT&T to unlock your SIM card, you can obtain your phone's PUK code from AT&T by:

● logging in to your my wireless Account online
● using their Technical Support Chat
● calling Customer Care at 1-800-331-0500

To get your phone's PUK code online from ATT:

● Log in to your my wireless Account.
● Select My Services under My Account.
● From the My Services screen, select My Phone/Device.
● Select Unblock SIM Card.
● The Unblock SIM screen will display your PUK code.

Once you receive your PUK code, you will need to enter it into your phone to set a new PIN code.

Note: If you enter the wrong ATT PUK code 10 times in a row, your SIM card will be invalidated, and you will need to purchase a new SIM Card. The phone will display the following error: "PUK blocked call operator."

There are three other ways to unlock a phone:

● The carrier will unlock the phone for you at one of its retail outlets;
● You can do it yourself by clicking on this link Free Unlock Codes ,
● Pay $3.89 at the following website: www.theunlockshack.com/.

I trust that this is helpful and solves your problem. All the best

Ben

How do i unlock my phone

There are two types of lock Beth.

A PUK Code lock which his put on by the service company for a number of reasons. It can only be unlocked by a code supplied by the company.

A user set pin code or lock pattern. If you try to unlock your phone more than 10 times, the service company will lock it with a PUK Code.

If you have not exceeded the number of tries, the only way is a factory reset, which scrubs everything off the phone including the lock on it.

I want the factory lock code of my phone

First question is the age of the phone or more specifically, how long has the phone been used on your contract? If this is an old phone you purchased under a provider plan, call the provider help line. AT&T gave me the unlock code to one phone I no longer used, and the unlock code to another phone that was eligible for an upgrade. If this is a new phone, providers are unlikely to issue the unlock code. The alternate solution is to search the Web for "unlocking phones". But, be careful. Most of the sites will charge a fee and some are just scams to get your credit card information.

My sister from america send her phone motorola c168 model, i insert india sim it asking network pni no, Plsease give me how to resolve it,

Hi
If your foreign cell phone has a setting that blocks your user ID being transmitted (your cell number being displayed to the person you call) your cell phone will not work in India unless you turn this setting off in your phone. I found this out the hard way when my cell phone would only accept calls and not allow me to dial out. As soon as I changed my settings the phone was back to normal and worked fine.

Remember that your cell phone will work only if it is unlocked. Most cell phone companies when they sell their phones to subscribers want them to stay with their company and usually have their phones locked so as to prevent subscribers from switching phone companies.

If your phone is locked you cannot use a Sim Card of an Indian phone company unless you get the phone unlocked. This can be done by speaking to your foreign phone company and getting them to unlock your phone or getting it unlocked by a technician in India.

Can I Sim unlock my phone??

yes you can

If your phone is locked to AT&T or any other company the fastest and safest and FREE way is to call them and ask for your unlock code. You need to to it from an other phone other then your cell cause they will ask you several questions then have you enter #s on the keypad.

if your phone is locked to an other company just do the same thing, but call that company instead.

if this was helpful please mark it fixya, rate me and if you wish recommend me to others.

My phone is locked how can i unlock it

There are websites online that provide unlocking services for a fee. If you google "phone unlock service" you will see many options.

There is also another way to go.
You can call yout service provider (ex. ATT, T-Mobile) or the company that branded the phone (the company that the phone is locked to) and tell them that you would like the unlock code for your phone. They will probably ask WHY you want the unlock code. Tell them that you will be going out of the country and need the phone unlocked in order to use a pre-paid SIM card in the country of destination. They will then get you the unlock code typically within three days. Hope this helps.

Sim pin is locked on my sony ericsson F350

If you have lost your pin then you can enter the pin 3 times, util the PUK lock appears. Then you unlock the PUK calling the phone company that provided the SIM card inside your phone (eg Vodafone, Telecom, Tmobile, Orange, AT&T etc.).

Calling the phone company is the standard procedure to unlock a SIM card, however, if you do not want to call the company you can just replace the SIM card with one compatible with the phone, as PIN and PUK codes are related to SIM, and not to the phone.
