Usually through the fire wall under carpet and down through the door sill. That would be the bottom of door opening when you open door. It also depends on what kind of vehicle. Make sure you put fuse in line on the main power wire

Where is the factory amp located ?

In the trunk up next to wheel wells. Start peeling carpet out of the trunk walls and you will find it. The rear speaker wires run right to it.

Please beware that only the 10 speaker systems have a factory amp. The stock 6 speaker systems run straight off of the factory radio. You can buy a factory amp bypass harness for this model at any good car audio shop.

Subs Won't work when wired

Hi,

Based on your post/description, pls try:
1. running the amp's power without the capacitor;
2. manually trigger the amp with the head unit off. Run it an determine if the backfiring still will occur (even with the head unit off);
3. temporarily interchange the left/right wiring;
4. temporarily interchange the + and - speaker wires;
5. run the amp normally trioggered by the headunit but remove the RCA connectors towards the amp.

If your concern has not been corrected or diagnosed which is at fault (wiring, amp, source) after completion of the above procedures, the amp may require an internal look and see.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FIXYA.

Camry radio

that is the trunk monkey. (youtube him, LOL)(
he is evil
1:stock radio. end to end, we cant guess this ever.
my wild guess is the rear speaker wires are shorting out and
the smart amp, is detecting it and not blowing self up but shuts it down. (some radios do other smoke)

if it's like my son in laws,car , all the audio is custom and wired
by the same trunk monkey, wiring from H3LL does that.
lots of flapping about , electrician tape and silly wire nuts lost.
and abomination.

Found your profile in yahoo.answers, hope you don't mind me asking you a question. I have a 2010 Altima 3.5SR with the Bose audio "premium" sound package. There's a Bose amp mounted on the rear...

  • Don't tap into any wire going to the amp. Run the desired new amp strait to the battery. Ground it to a bolt in the trunk. Get into the dash and find a wire to use for your remote wire for the new amp (power when key is on and no power when key is off.) Then run the new amp to an AV output in the back of your deck. If your just gonna add some bump to your trunk and not do a complete system overhaul then leave the current as is and just add on to it as I explained. Will definitely be loud.

I have a 73 buick century and i cant get the button for the trunk to work there is only one pink wire coming off of it and i cant find any loose wires i was wondering if you have any advice

have you test your trunk acuator, it may be bad, take a cordles battey from a drill and test it directly to de actuator if it wors then back trace your wiring to a relay beacuse your switch seems to be a ground signal to it.

How to run a power cable from my 2000 300m batterie to the trunk for my amp

You normally have to drill a 1/2" hole depending on the size of your wire though the firewall and down the pillar then under the rocker panel by the bottom of the door (where you step in/out) and then on the side of the back seat to the trunk. Expect about 20-30min to run the wire. make sure you use a rubber/plastic gormmet on the firewall to keep the wire from shorting out and you need to fuse this wire off the battery. use the same amp fuse as your amp. (if 60 then use 60 at the battery)

Alpine v12 amp no power

its your fuse box. i would bypass the fuse box and wire this amp directly to the battery via monster cable. make sure you attach a 30wieght fuse to the monster cable that is running from the battery to your amp. ground the amp against the trunk. scrape the paint of a section and drill a hole in the trunk. use this for the ground for you amp. this will fix the no power issue.

Speaker issues

You have to run wires and antenna wire to trunk from head unit pull down the flap where the amp is and unplug the factory plug from the stereo think box is what i call it its the unit in front of the amp you will need to unplug the larger of the plugs it has like 10 wires in it and then unplug the antenna wire and you will connect it to the antenna wire you you ran back to the trunk do not splice any wires if you get a wiring kit for it it should have evrything you need
