Frigidair fdb989gfc2 dishwasher will not heat the water and dry the dishes. the heater has 14 ohms and t-stat is closed. please help. thank you.

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly. You most likely have a bad thermistor. See this link for wiring diagram: (Enlarge to 200%)
http://www.theappliancepartswarehouse.com/frigidaire_large/135604.jpg

The thermistor will read around 10,000 ohms at 25 C. You can check the resistance by reading yellow wire to yellow wire on PS04-3 to PS04-4.

If the thermistor checks good then there is a problem with heat relay control on the main control board. This sometimes is caused by corrosion on the electrical runs on the board. If you not corrosion on the mainboard clean it as best you can with a Q-tip. Isoprophyl Alcohol is best for cleaning PCBs as it cleans and rapidly evaporates. DO NOT use electrical contact cleaner as it will damage the board.

Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

Kenmore microwave model 63792 displays F2 error message

The F2 error code on your microwave oven is a membrane failure.
It is recommended that you replace the membrane first & if you still have problems to replace the control board.

F3 problem

Hi!

It seems that the problem is Open or Shorted Oven Temperature Sensor (RTD). To resolve the issue you need to check the oven temperature sensor circuit at oven temperature sensor which should be approx 1100 ohms at room temperature and also check for cut or pinched wire or loss of contact. If still the problem persist then p lease check sensor harness and connection between oven sensor and oven control. If wiring is ok, then you need to replace the control board (clock).

Please do rate this solution as FixYa and revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Microwave turns on & control panel is frozen. F2&PAN error codes

You have a shorting membrane keypad. If and when an oven is coming on or doing anything by itself, this is very dangerous and can result in a fire.

So until it is repaired, please leave it unplugged or leave the door open when it's not in use, and please do not leave it running unattended.

On this model, the membrane keypad is not available as a separate part, so you would have to order the control panel frame which comes with a new keypad.

In this case, you simply move your circuit board into the new frame.

That is a simple do-it-yourself job.

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number (KHMS155LWH1 without dashes) from the tag on the oven here.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

Code F6, E0, "Communication Error"

Hi. this code represents a key pad or control board malfunction. you will have to make sure the key pad or control panel connectors are connected tightly and securely. If the wires and connectors are secure, the actual control board may be faulty and you will need to replace it at this point.

F9 error

Your Microwave uses "UltraWave technology"
I'll explain a few things about this wonderful technology...
The control board (accepts the pushbutton commands) has to talk to the inverter board to tell it how much power should be applied to the magnetron. The inverter board will then power the magnetron and inform the control board if the magnetron is working OK.
If there is something wrong with the magnetron or inverter board or a there is a communication breakdown between the control board and the inverter board...WA-LA-----F9----

A pretty reliable test for the Magnetron is to operate the oven and listen for a ticking sound 5-6 times about a second apart. If you can hear the ticking....The magnetron has failed..if no ticking, the control or inverter board failed.

The Magnetron sells for about $78.00 and is simple to replace. Check your owners manual for limited warranty on the MAG and electronic parts.

Microwave Ultrawave with Hood fan

You are right. f4 means shorted oven temperature sensor (RTD). Check sensor harness and harness connection between oven sensor and oven control. Replace oven temperature sensor (RTD) if wiring is ok.

Kitchen aid microwave oven not working.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here: http://tinyurl.com/gv383

I'd say you have a contaminated or failing keypad or possibly residue on the boar dor where the keypad connects to the board.

Is it possible that some spray cleaner got into the controls?

I always recommend that users instead spray cleaner on a soft cloth then wipe the control panel.

Also, I always recommend non-ammonia cleaners since ammonia can crack and damage plastic.

Otherwise, the spray can get into the controls and lock it up or make it act odd.

If it does not dry out over time, it may need to be manually dried or blown out.

The keypad may be damaged or worn out, or control unit may be damaged.
