Where do I find the password for my D-link? Is it the encryption code or is it something else?I have a DIR-635

Hello jean635,
As for the password for your D-Link router, there's 2 passwords you could be referring to.
1) The password to login to the router itself
2) The password for your wireless network

If the password you're looking for is the one to login to your router (192.168.0.1) and the password has NOT been changed, you should be able to login with the username "Admin" and a blank password. If that does not work then you would need to factory reset your router using the "Reset" button on the back of the unit.

If the password you are looking for is the one for your wireless network, then you would need to login to your router, navigate to the wireless network settings and you should see the password there. If it's just a bunch of circles, you would need to change the password to a new one and make the necessary changes to the settings on your computers/devices that connect.

    i got this problem, i tried username admin and blank password, but cannot login, so i tried resetting the router by pressing the reset button for 30s and try login with admin and blank password, but still cannot. Can anyone help me? I need to set my security....

Maybe a wrong password?
Of bad encryption.
Try setting the password to something simple and the encryption to WEP.
If that works then convert to WPA2 or some thing stronger.

I don't know how to set a password on my d-link router because my internet is insecure. How do i do this? I have the default username and password, but i don't know what to do from there.
1.Open your Internet browser and type in the default IP address for your DIR-625 wireless router: 192.168.0.1. A window will appear asking for your DIR-625 wireless router network name and password. If you do not know your existing network name, enter the default network name, "Admin." Leave the password blank. If you have already set up a network name and password, enter it now. Select "Log In."

2.Select "Wireless Settings" from the left-hand navigation bar. Put a check mark in the box marked "Enable Wireless."

3.Type your new wireless network name for your DIR-625 in the box labeled "Wireless Network Name."

4.Type your new password for your DIR-635 in the box labeled "Pre-Shared Key."

5.Select "Save Settings" from the top of the screen to save your new password.

The password you are referring to is probably the wireless encryption key/passphrase. This key is setup in the D-Link's wireless settings.
Open a browser on your computer and enter the D-Link's configuration URL
http://192.168.0.1
The default login = admin
The default PW = blank (just press Enter) - if you had changed the PW then enter the password.
Then go to the wireless settings to get the encryption key.

NOTE - If your computers are connected to the D-Link using the D-Link's wireless then the encryption key is configured in the wireless card settings. Yo may also get this encryption key from the computer's wireless card settings.

I got dlink DIR-635, and i don't know how to put security code on it. Do anyone know?
You must first know how to connect to your router system
May be it is like 3com type which you just put "192.168.1.1" in your internet explorer and it will load your router system.

It will ask for a password which mostly is "admin" or "administrator".
(you could change it)

After you access your router system just go to encryption, and you will find types of encryption like (wep, wpa,etc,,,) just choose one and type the password you prefere for your router, then save changes.

How do i setup my dir-300 wth a password so other people cant log in to my internet?
First connect your router to computer with ethernet cable.
Then you can access it with following link
http://192.168.1.1
or
http://192.168.0.1
type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or blank or "password"
then go to wi fi security set your WEP code it is your password to connect wi fi network.

D Link DIR 635 - need to reset user name and password !
You can press the reset button on the DIR-635 which will reset the device back to it's factory defaults. Then connect using the factory default user id and password. (ID: Admin password is blank)
