My radio receives calls but they sound like someone is talking in an alien tongue, It says these are water-proof, but it rained today and this is the first time that the problem has arose. I can hear other people kind of, but you cannot make calls, and when you do, the RDU2080d makes a beeping noise. explain please quickly!

Several things need to be checked. Fully charged battery. Antenna, make certain it s tight and unbroken. Wiggle the antenna while receiving, if reception improves, it is the antenna or the antenna jack. Then wiggle the on/off vol switch, same thing, if reception improves, it is broken or needs to be resoldered. Then I check the speaker. Speakers gather metal particles, as they get more and more, the speaker distorts and it sounds like static. Use a powerful magnet, run it over the speaker grill and see if anything comes out. I put plastic wrap on the magnet for easy cleaning. It could still be a bad speaker. Last, I check programming. All of this is done at our shop regularly and I suspect most radio shops follow the same procedures, maybe in a different order. Post if this helps or not.

several qs. What year make and model is the car? Is car level when water fills floor? Does it always happen every time it rains fairly heavily? Is the trunk always dry? Talk to other owners for their experience.

hello please check the rear of the radio as antenna could have come away from it hearing sounds like cb radio do you mean transmissions can you hear someone talking ,its probably someone near you that you are picking up

If you lift your hood, check the wires that are for your windshield wiper fluid, I had the same problem and because the wires were being pressed against the molding water was able to drop down onto the engine. When ever it rains really hard felt like the truck was going to cut off. But when the sun was out my baby would pur like a kitten.

Sounds like you have your stereo lock up and you need a code. if you don't have it and is the original OEM stereo write down your VIN number and call your local Jeep dealer they shut be able to find it by the car VIN number. Note: Some times dealers tell you than you will have to bring it over to unlock, that is not necessary truth. they just wan to make you pay for that. or some times the guy than you talk to don know what is he talking abode or is a new guy. if y you don't have luck the first time tray calling a deferment dealer or the same one on a deferment time. 1. Get the noise then disconnect the coax and see if noise goes away on receive, if noise goes away then address the ground on your antenna,
if noise still there then address the ground wire from power source

This tent is properly protected from the rain, i used it and it was just fine, not a drop of rain came in.

Of course there was a bit of a condensation, but i haven't met a tent that didn't suffer from this problem when it rains.

Check to see if the meter needle is swinging backwards when you key up. If it does your final may be bad. If the needle goes forward and others say they see your keying up but no sound your audio chip may be bad; especially if you have tried so many mics and antennas. If your radio has a swr warning light and it comes on this could extremely limit your range and others may not hear you and contiued use will damage your radio. Good luck!!!
