This may be due to a faulty power supply. This is best repaired by an experienced electronics technician. These TVs often have capacitors in the power supply which become faulty over a period of time and need replacing.

Bulb overheated and probably blew, they are made of mercury most times so don't touch them they should be in a housing, that could be it. If most times dust gets in there and the fan gets weighted down with dust if its up against the wall no air flow, so there ya go, try that. good luck

Sounds like a capacitor blew on one of the boards. Can you detect any burnt electronic smell? If the Cap blew on the Power Supply, you can either replace the Capacitor or replace the power supply board. The boards are between $79 and $149 depending where you get it. Some of the other boards, Y or Z Sus, are between $179 and $300. If you can't do it yourself, and with many 42" models selling for $649 to $899, it might be too expensive to fix.

You can find the boards on ebay or shopjimmy, youtube has videos showing how to replace them. Hope that helps.

Heard loud pop now have no picture i have sound .

Hello Jay,
The pop sound you herd was a blown capacitor, Open the back cover and check the main capacitor in power supply, It need replacement. But first check if the oil of the capacitor drop on the circuit then it must first cleaned then dry the area where the oil of capacitor spread.
Thanks.

Most likely what happened is one of the capacitors went bad. When a capacitors goes bad it produces a popping sound. This could be an easy and cheap fix if you find the bad capacitor or capacitors. The bad capacitor will have a bulging top most likely on the power board but could be anywhere.
