Question about Audio Players & Recorders

1 Answer

My Ipod nano has a bright white screen, and once in awhile it will go perfectly normal and fully visible, then dim back out on its own. I have charged it, reset it, changed the backlight and brightness and so on. I can't read the text or see the pictures on the screen unless I turn it to an uncomfortable degree, and even then I can barely make it out.

You have water damage that ruined the screen. you can get it fixed at some places but its more expensive than getting a new ipod, i had the same thing happen to mine. i don't know how the water got in but it did the exact same thing to mine

IPOD CANNOT DISPLAY LIGHTING

It is possible your player works correctly but some display setting causes no lighting. Try this procedure to set the screen brightness:

Choose Settings > General > Brightness, and then use the Click Wheel to move the
slider. Moving it to the left dims the screen; moving it to the right increases the screen
brightness.

I hope your problem was this only, if not I am sorry.

My ipod touch works perfectly however i i turned it of once and the screen went blank almost completely. i could hardly even see it under a realy bright light. how can i fix this? or is it unfixable, do i...

Greetings,

After many years of developing for the iphone, I've come across this problem many times.
  1. If your ipod is stuck on this really dim lighting and connect be used, just leave it alone till it runs out of battery on its own.
  2. When the ipod is completely dead, just recharge fully.
  3. After the ipod is charged, proceed to turning it on.
  4. If the light is still dim, go to settings and set the brightness.
OR
  1. If your ipod is usable but you cannot change the brightness, reset the entire ipod manually (hold the on-off button for a few seconds).
  2. When ipod is shutdown, hold the on-off switch again and wait till it reboots.
  3. Then go to settings and change the brightness to your liking.

If you require further assistance, please feel free to reply to this post. Also please don't forget to rate me if I have helped.
Thank you for using FixYa.

My ipods brightness doesnt work is very dim when i turn the brightness up or down nothing happens the screen just stays very dim all the time i restored the ipod and still the same

Well as you probably figure, you're back light has probably crapped out. However I would reset it by holding both the menu and center buttons at the same time until you see an apple appear on the screen. If the back light does not come on then, try the settings one more time. If there is still no backlight at this point; I would go ahead and connect it to your computer and restore it using itunes. Sadly if you still cannot resolve your issue at this point you will probably want to call apple tech support about it at 1-800-APL-CARE (1-800-275-2273) If your still under warranty they should cover all expenses on the repair or replacement. (Just don't admit to any kind of accidental damage)

Delll axim x30 screen remains dimmed even though fully charged

ok , you have checked the brightness settings, check battery power settings as well. you may have to do a hard reset so back up your info. If doing a hard reset, pull the battery and charge it on its own if you have a cradle. Hope this works for you

My ipod nano 2nd gen's screen won't display anything..

I have had this problem recently myself and would like you to know that it is possible to fix. The white screen error or otherwise known as "white screen of death" is caused by the lcd color screen on the ipod itself. That is why its functions still work but the screen does not. Once you replace the color screen it will be as good as new.

My ipod nano has a white screen

Try this - it at least seems to have fixed the same problem, at least for now, with my 2nd generation Nano:

1. When you see the white screen, hold down both the Play and Select buttons together, pressing the Play button a little bit before the Select button.
2. When the white screen goes to black, release the two buttons almost simultaneously with the Select button released slightly before the Play button.
3. Hopefully, if done with the right timing, you should get your normal screen back. If not, try switching the Hold on and off or changing the starting mode by listening through headphones to see if it is playing or not.
4. Once you have recovered the screen, plug it into your computer to sync without turning it off and perform a complete sync. After I did this my Nano stayed in the normal screen mode. Before I had done this step, it kept reverting to the white screen.

One more thing to try if this still doesn't work is to first try restoring the Nano completely through iTunes.

I'll be interested to hear whether my solution works for anyone else.
