Try lifting up the document feeder and look for a piece of glass just to the left of the big piece of glass you put your originals on. Check the small glass for any spots of dust or anything on it and try cleaning that glass with windex.

I have a black continuous line down the right side of my paper. This only occurs when I feed the paper, it does not occur when I place paper directly on glass to copy. Can you please advise what I nee

there is a small glass strip that the paper feeds across. It needs to be cleaned. Raised the lid like you are about to place the document on the glass and look for that strip. Scrub it with a lint free towel, use IPA (not rubbing alcohol) to help cleaning. Dont use soap.

Dear Sharp Al-2030 Experts: Paper Copies made from the cover-mounted auto-feed system are produced with a full copy-length thin double line separated by an approximately 1 13/16" wide distance. It is...

There is something on your scan glass. If you get lines through the document feeder but not on copies made off the glass then it is a dirty scan glass. There is a thin glass strip where the document feeder feeds the original. Usually something like white out that did not dry smears off an original and ends up on this thin strip of glass. Scratch it off with your finger nail and use some glass cleaner to resolve the problem. The scan glass is about 1/2 an inch to an inch wide and will be on the same side of the machine that the copier feeds the originals in on. Once the glass is clean your problem is solved!

Black vertical lines on copies and scans from auto

This means the read area is dirty. Clean the glass with glass or lens cleaner at the area where you place the head of the paper if you wanted to lift the cover and scan a page without the autofeeder. There may be white out or toner stuck to the glass. This can be removed with a glass blade.

Sharp Copier AL-1631. Copies with a black line (which moves positions on the page each time). Checked the manual and cleaned the part that it told me to. That did nothing to fix the problem.

If it only happens when using the document feeder (if fitted), then the small glass on the right hand side needs a clean ( normally tippex), if it occurs when copying from the glass and doc feed then your charge corna needs cleaning

When making a copy there is a black line on the printed copy. I have a HP Photosmart C6200 all in one series

Look for white out or anything else on the platen glass. If this is occurring when feeding through the ADF. It is probably dirty rollers under and inside the ADF unit.

Black line vertically on scanned/printed documents

This problem can be caused by a number of different issues. If it occurs when you copy, check the scanning glass to see if there is any dust/gunk on the scanner glass. Also if you machine has a document feeder than you need to check the **** glass that the paper feeds past.

If it occurs when you print than you probably need to clean your printer. Check your manual for exact details on how to clean your printer but in general it could be on a paper feed roller or it maybe something on the drum. If you let me know what printer this is happening on I can direct you to a manual if needed.

Black line in auto feed

If you lift the scanner cover, you should see an area on the right end of the platen glass marked at the edge with arrows as Read Area. This is the area used when documents are scanned through the auto feed. Make sure that the glass is completely clean in this area, as any dirt will show up as a line on the copied image.

Copying with page feed results in a vertical line on every page

There must be a strip of glass about one inch wide, next to
the large glass. There is the problem !
Clean that strip thourougly. When you use the feeder the pages
are scanned thru the small strip of glass.
