The gas coils are ok by measuring them, the exhaust tube is clear but the igniter still stops half way on a maytag dryer sdg3606aww

T"he sound you are hearing is coming from the blower wheel.This is located in the front of the machine and can be accessed by removing the front of the machine, Getting the front off varies machine to machine, Once the front is off, you'll see the blower wheel in the front, and once again some models you may have to remove exhaust vent, in others just the cover of the blower wheel. This is an easy repair, no doubt. The part number is 56000

its either the hi-limit switch is weak on the burner tube,or the gas valve coils on the gas valve are weak and can no longer keep the gas valve open to supply gas,if they appear warm after operation they are most likely bad

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

Because it's often difficult to properly test the coils, it's usually best to replace both (all) of them at the same time. my maytag dryer turns on the gas ignites and stays on for about 1 min then the gas shuts off the ignitor glows orange every 30 sec to a minute but the gas valve does not open also the dryer knob does not go past more dry im not sure if thats also the problem
