Question about Hoover Dishwashers

Open Question

I have a Hoover dishwashe HND 6515. I put it on the universal 65c programme this afternoon and sfter 5 mins it started a continual beep beep beep noise and the red light on the universal button was flashing, I then notices it was emtying water all over the kitchen floor, seeming to come from under the bottom of the door. I turned it off and when it finished pouring out water opened it up and the bottom of it is full of water which will not drain away. I have checked the filters and they are all clen. Please help, is there anything else I can do to fix it?

SOURCE: Kenmore Dishwasher does not wash

Stew, Im not really sure what model you have 665, 587, 363 or what. If it's a 665, it sounds like the wash motor is not getting power. Remove the toe panel and look at the start capacitor. See if one of the wires came off during the reinstallation. Should be on the left side of the wash motor. If one of the wires is off, wash motor won't run. If that's ok, check the main harness to the motor. Catriver

You need to reset the computer on the bottom. Had the same problem with mine. The Blinking led means the heating element is bad and will not operate.

SOURCE: Bosch dishwasher: won't fill with water

The flood switch is tripped. This is located under the unit. Unplug or flip the breaker to the dishwasher, take off the black kick plate under the door, 2 screws, and you will see the white plastic "pan". The flood switch is located where you can't really see it but it is on the left hand side wall and is made of styrofoam. The best thing to do is to put some rags in the pan, this is not easy because there is little room to put them, and soak-up the water that has filled the pan. Eventually you will get enough water out that the float will deactivate the switch. What you hear "running" when you turn it on is actually the drain pump, it get activated when the flood switch is tripped.

SOURCE: Hoover hed6612 dishwasher wont work

We have had the same problem but have found a fix.
1. If any of the wheels have come off the top sliding basket/rack you need to make sure they are all back on for each wash ( ours are very loose! )
2. Push the top rack in FIRMLY before you wash - make sure it engages at the back.
That's it - solved it for us after months of problems.
I think that as the wheels get worn the top rack does not fully engage at the back and this is when the problem starts manifesting itself. We have some new wheels on order but they are taking ages to arrive.

Hi Jonathan,

Welcome to FixYa.

Your float may have got stuck or it's possible that you have water leaking into the bottom of the washer. In the bottom of the wash compartment, next to the drain you will find a plastic dome/mushroom (the float). You might need to rotate the bottom spray arm to see it.

Turn the washer on so that the pump starts to run, open the door and push down on the float. This should stop the pump running. When you let go of the float, if it rises back up on its own, then it's almost certain that you have water in the bottom of the washer. If this is the case please post back for further assistance. If the float stays down, then it may have simply got stuck.

Please try this simple test and post back with the results.

Regards,
BElectric

Sounds like you need a new safety switch or the installation of it is not good. Is the water level getting too high which would indivate that the system has another problem in letting in too much water.

Can I turn the beeper off on the end of the washcycle on the DDY062 Hoover dishwasher. I want to put it on timer delay and dont want to be woken in the middle of the night.

These are the instructions taken directly from the DDY062 manual:
Alarm mute for the PROGRAMME END
The alarm for the programme end may be muted as follows:
IMPORTANT The dishwasher must be ALWAYS off before start this procedure.
1. Hold down the "PROGRAMME SELECTION" button and at the same time switch on the dishwasher by pressing the "ON/OFF" button (a brief audible signal will sound).
2. Keep the "PROGRAMME SELECTION" button pressed for at least 15 seconds (during this time, 2 audible signals will sound).
3. Release the button when the second audible signal sounds (3 "PROGRAMME SELECTION" indicator lights will come on).
4. Press the same button again: the 3 indicator lights (which indicate that the alarm is activated) will start flashing (to indicate that the alarm is off).
5. Turn off the dishwasher by pressing the "ON/OFF" button to confirm the new setting.
To turn the alarm on again, follow the same procedure.

Set dishwasher to start - sounds as if it starts but then 5 mins later beeps. When door is opened nothing has happened and instead of the i.e. P4 programme displayed E1 is displayed? Can you help on what...

Possible that there are no outputs from the program controller unit and so you will need to check with a multimeter the voltage to the inlet valve/motor while the washer starts. If there is no supply then the controller is faulty , if not check the inlet valve and the pumps for fault.
Make sure that the door switch is working as unless the switch latches the program controller will not work- safety feature.

HOOVER HOD6615 DISHWASHER CONTINUAL BEEPING AFTER INITIAL RINSE & REFUSES TO PROCEED TO WASH CYCLE WHATS THE PROBLEM?

This could be a safety trigger due to bottom water leak. A anti flood device (polystireen float and micro switch) that switches washer in shut off mode and does not continue until the water leak (pipe or hose clamp) that causes the float to trigger the device. Check the bottom of the washer for traces of water and rectify any leak before the washer will continue.

Bauknecht GSX4756 dishwasher

I have this problem frequetly - it's an easy one to fix! Just press the programme button which changes the programme setting you want (on my built-in GSX4756 it's the last button on the right) and keep it pressed in until the beeping stops. Then start it again (will probably be on the rinse programme if it's like mine).
