Question about Bose Audio Players & Recorders

1 Answer

When listing to my music on my Bose A2 audio headphones, I can hear music playing but i can barley hear the singing from the artists, I cant figure why the sound of the singing has gone away all of the sudden. Its not the music file, you can hear the singing in the song when it when it's played through my computers speakers.

It's defiantly the second issue. I had the jack as far in as it would go and nothing worked. I am not familiar with the cable or how to replace the jack, so what did I need to do?

It turns out that the cable was loose on the headphones, which I had no idea could be detachable, I figured this out by calling Bose, thanks for you help!

I just had the same problem, the audio sounded distant and compressed. Make sure BOTH ends of the headphones are firmly seated.

I have the same issue...and if you press the center button of the volume up/down control located on the headphone cable itself, the voice comes back into the mix.

I have the same issue - the voice is very low in volume but the music is normal. When I press the center button of the volume up/down control (located on the headphone chord) the voice is back to normal.

First of all I think that you mean AE2 headphones. This problem is due to a faulty connection of the outer ring (ground point connection) at the headphones jack. Check the connector from the headphones to the laptop (or desktop, speakers e.t.c.). Is it firmly connected? Sometimes needs a little more pressure to go deep inside and this is the solution. In case the above didn't help you, maybe there is an internal cut at the connection from the headphone's cable to the headphone's jack. In this case you have to replace the jack.
Check for the first case, that is the easiest one and post me the results. Also clarify me if you are familiar with cable connections in order to guide you how to replace the jack.
In case of a problem or clarification or further details needed, don't hesitate to post me a reply before rejecting my answer.

Let's clear up all the other cases. Try the headphones at another audio system with a suitable headphones output (laptop, mini - midi stereo system, mp3 player etc). If it's possible try another set of headphones at the same source that you used the BOSE AE2. Is the problem existing on these headphones?

Waiting clarification, don't hesitate to post.

I can hear audio from out side of my headphones

They are semi closed headphones, you can get closed type that keep the sound inside the headphones but these are not like this.
You need a different pair of headphones to suit this purpose.

This could be due to the output volume and monitor mix are turned too low. You can fix this by adjusting the input gain levels in the ASIO settings menu.

When I listen to my music you can hear the instrument, but you can't hear the singing. HELP.

Hi, when your using an ear-phone and you hear only the instruments alone, it means that the ear-phone is bringing out a mono signal(always have one ring at the tip of the jack),but if it was two rings, then you will have a stereo signal that will allow you to hear both the instruments and the voice..

Hope that helped..

Thanks for using fixya.

When i turn the volume up past a certain point the music stops playing and all i hear is a scratchy noise every couple seconds

This is usually due to the headphones or speakers not being able to play back the audio past that point, try a different set of headphones, the earbuds might be burnt out. some earbuds **** and cant play sounds past a certain dB the general dB levels tolerated without distortion are about 104-110 ish, but if you are listening anywhere near that your gonna hurt your ears. tests have shown that audio levels past about 90dB will seriously damage your ears after prolonged usage. Generally get nice in-ear ear buds with noise cancelation and never move your audio past 90% to clearly hear the music without damaging your ears.

I got my girlfriend some Jbuds J2 and they are great and i prefer them over my 200$ bose ear buds. check amazon they are about 14$ the J3's are around 24$
