1 Answer

I have an Altima 38 natural gas grill. The rotisorie lights but as soon a I remove my finger from the knob that has to be depressed to light the burner the rotisorie flame dies. As instucted int he manual I hold the know dowm for one or two minutes. I think it is a problem with the thermocoupler but not sure. Can this part be replaced.

Your assumption is more than likely correct. And yes, it can be replaced, But it it can be a bit difficult to do. If you sill have your Owners Manual it will assist you in locating where the Thermocouple screws into the burner control valve (Most manuals have an exploded view of all the parts of the grill), In any event, I suspect you may have to remove the front control panel to access the connection at the burner control knob.

You can either purchase one from Altima (800) 229-5647 or from Appliance Factory Parts
http://www.appliancefactoryparts.com/gasgrillparts/brands/altima/agr38pf.html They also have a download-able and printable copy Owners Manual for your model grill at no charge.

Hope this helped you to solve the problem. Please let me know and Happy Grilling!!

Can this grill be also used on propane? If so you might be running it too hot on natural gas, check to see if the control knobs have two different set of markings.

I have a 3 burner CaptnCook gas grill. The middle burner has a single flame when I try to light but does not light the whole burner row, just right at the front only. The right and left will not light at...

The problem lies with the grill's regulator and how the gas tank valve was opened.

To solve this problem, first be sure you have adequate gas in the tank. If that checks out OK, do the following:

1. Turn the gas tank valve OFF and disconnect the hose from the tank.

2. Wait 5 minutes and reconnect the hose to the tank.

3. Open the tank valve VERY, VERY SLOWLY (Slow motion, slow).

4. Once the tank valve is fully open, light the burner farthest from the tank first and set the burner
control knob on HIGH. Does the flame height look correct for being set on HIGH? If so, light
the remaining burners the same way. Do all the burner flames look correct? If so, you solved
the problem. Remember, to always open the tank valve Very, Very Slowly.

If that didn't solve the problem, you will need to replace the grill's Hose/Regulator Assembly. It runs about $30.00 at any home center or hardware store that sells grills & accessories. If you replace it, turn the tank valve ON Very, Very Slowly.

Hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem. Happy Grilling!!

To determine if it is the switch, remove the wires from the back of the switch and touch them together, if the lights come on, it is the switch. You will have to contact Weber for a new switch.

BOUGHT A BRINKMANN 2545 GRILL LAST NIGHT. WE HAVE IT ATTACHED TO GAS LINE COMING FROM HOUSE. GRILL WILL LIGHT BUT IT IS A LITTLR FLAME AND THE OTHER BURNERS WILL NOT LIGHT?

If you have a high pressure 2lb LP Gas System feeding your house, you will need and inline regulator for you grill.

If you have Natural Gas, the grill will have to be converted to Natural Gas. You can do this by changing burner orifices. You can purchase them from Brinkman. That is, if Brinkman approves the change to Natural Gas. Some gas grills aren't convertible.

The rotisserie heating element does not fire up on my barbeques galore grand turbo BBQ. Electric ignite seems to be working, but smell gas no heat

The rotisserie should have a thermocouple near the burner. If you have to hold in the knob, or push a red button to get the gas to flow to the burner, and the electrode sparks and the burner lights, you have to continue to hold the knob or button in until the thermocouple gets hot enough to keep the gas on. If the burner keeps going out, you could have a bad thermocouple.

Open the lower panel. You will see a valve with a knob marked On Pilot and Off. This is the gas valve. Turn the knob to Pilot. Push in on the knob and if you are in the correct setting, the knob will depress about 1/2" into the valve. Now look for a red button and snap it in much like a gas grill starter. Keep the knob depressed and look into the small viewing port to see if you started the pilot. Hold the knob for 30 seconds then let it out. You should see a blue flame. If you don't , try it again and hold the knob in longer this time. Once you get the pilot to lite, rotate the knob to the On position. If for some reason you can't get the pilot to stay on, you may need to replace the thermocouple. If the pilot won't light at all, you may need to get into the pilot Assembly with a long match or grill lighter and light the pilot.
