Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Hi, on my PC I have installed a card reader, but when I put the card into it nothing happens. Specifically, the indicator lights up but the system does not react at all. Kingston SDHC card is 4 gigabytes The camera works. When I link it from the PC card win will find no problems. We need the card to use but also through the reader.

Hello jony_harker,
Did you install the driver for the card reader? If not, you may want to start with that.
Also, have you tried the card reader with any other cards?
Another option, is make sure that the card itself is not set to the "lock" position. (There is typically a little tab that you can slide)

Was the Operating System installed by the manufacturer, or did you reinstall it? YOu probably just need to go to the compaq web site, and download the appropriate driver for the integrated card reader:

Check to make sure it isn't an SDHC card. Most older card readers aren't able to read the formatting of the newer cards. You may need to buy a new card reader with SDHC support.

Try putting your memory stick on a usb port on the back of the cpu. It may work. Usb ports on the front of the cpu and card reader may not work with all memory sticks

Card reader for pc

Did you physically disconnect the card reader while the computer was on? You could have " shocked" the software drivers.!! If you still have the software drivers ? or you installed it using Win_xp software drivers ?
usually, u can uninstall the card reader in the control panel.>system>.device manager. right click the device, uninstall
reboot!.
Windows should see the reader, reinstall the software drivers
