Question about Xerox FaxCentre F116 Plain Paper Laser Fax

I have a xerox f116 faxcenter machine that I bought from an online auction. When I set it up and put a document in to fax, it came up with a message that said 'REMOVE DOCUMENT STOP TO CONFIRM'. The media had been removed from the machine before i bought it. I'm not sure if that is the reason. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

you wil need to replace the fuser or open the fuser and look at the thermosta and thermoster.for dirt and continuity. clean or replace .But make sure the lamp is not broken also and be very carefull it get hot and there is sencetiff parts in the.

Trying to clear the memory of a Xerox Faxcentre F116. Do you know the steps to accomplish this?


One needs to know what they are doing when resetting memory to the machine.
When resetting the machine, one needs to consider, the loss of memory data on the copy cartridge counter in the machine.
When resetting memory a copy toner cartridge needs to be in stock with a counter reset card.
Erasing memory will wipe out the old copy/toner cartridge odometer setting, resuling in "Replace toner/cartridge" error.
Please clarify which memory area is being erased.

How do I get the confirmation page to print>


On the machine there should be a menu key to check the settings on the fax answer/send mode.
Scroll to the different menus and check for confirmation page, on/off = on.

Faxcentre f116 outgoing faxes are black i have replaced the scanner assy and the uc board 2 times and calibrated them each after the part was replaced


On this machine for black copies, the areas to check are the HVPS, The ROS, or the Print engin Board.
Most likely on this machine the HVPS can be the problem, then the ROS, then the printe engine board.
The definitions are the scanner platen is under the document feeder, the ROS is the actual laser scanner.
Taking this machine apart several times, one can also check the ground straps to the copy cartridge to make sure they are connecting to copy cartridge when it is inserted into the machine.

Check menu,8,2. You may be able to print out the road map on the different menue configuration.
You should be able to print out by
selecting menu ,*, 8 and printed with Menu, "*", 1.
Not seeing the machine is difficult to see the different ways the menus are going to.
Technical parameters are different and has a different enter mode. This needs to be researched further for explination.

Xerox F116 fax drum & toner reset cards


This would be an expensive process event to try an old card when entering a used modual. The card resents the main board the the card cannot be used again.
If anything else send the cartridges back to Xerox.
If you try to experiment with a new card, and an old drum, chances are you will create new problems for the Xerox repairman to fix.

Keep a new supply of toners and drums and make sure each item has the card in the box, and do not allow the customers or casual operatiors, including Managers!!!! , to swap theses items on their own.
They are too expensive to trouble-shoot and experiment with.

We want to be able to fax out on our Xerox copy/fax machine but


First of all, I beleive the machine came with software on the disc. If you have not installed the software, install it. There might be some menus in the computer and the Fax machine, so you can change these settings to manual and automatic.
The machine should have a operators manual also, check the manual for manual fax recieving.
Also we do not know if you are using XP or Vista.
Check with Xerox.com for latest drivers and software updates.
Even though the fax is connected to the computer, there has to be a bridge that communicates these fax procesess.
This might be a service call you would need with Xerox.

Don't want a transmission report after each sent fax


On the machine there is a menu button.
the menu can be printed out so you can see all the areas to select.
If you scroll to through the menu, you will find a set up or incoming fax menu.
You need to set confirmation to off.
This will take some time to find the right menu, so be patient with the machine.

Fax Machine not picking up incoming faxes...


If this is on a network your network tech needs to set up your machine through one of the routers.
If the machine was pluged into the phone socet direct, there would be no problem. The phone will ring constantly, until you plug the phone to the machine.
If the machine does not answer the phone, then the problem maybe in the machines confguration for auto answer, or a modem board not working.

But on a network, the computer is trying to find the signal, but can't because it cannot find the machines signal.
This problem is in the network side. Check with your network specialist.

it picked up the machine as a plug and play, but Vista does have some problems so..... try it
