SOURCE: Ge profile side By side ice maker water leak

This sounds like the float mechanism has gone bad. Remove it and have a look. It may be the float or the switch on it that is bad. There is also a solenoid valve. Parts kits are available. Shut off the water first!

SOURCE: GE side by side refrigerator: water/ice dispensor

I bought a brand new smartwater replacement filter and after a very short time, my water stopped coming through the door.. took out the new replacement filter and inserted a brand new one .. problem solved.. apparently some of the g.e. smartwater filter replacement cartridges don't have the high enough two plastic inserts which are attached to them at the top of the filter when you screw them on... if you have taken your cartridge in and out a few times, i think it wears down the plastic so it doesn't fit properly and won't put up whatever it is supposed to push up to make the water come through.. I personally think this is a g.e. problem with the replacement filters...

If your filter is over 6 months old, try replacing it first. Its time for a new filter anyway. Thats when I usually know its time for a new filter.

The ice maker in my GE model #TFX20JRBK-AA will not stop making ice. What part do you think I need to replace to solve this problem?

Either the ice maker bucket is not placed properly.Remove it out and reinsert it.Or the the feeler arm is broken. So the ice maker is not detecting that ice is made and it goes on making ice.-------- Click this for troubleshooting:--- http://howtobyme.blogspot.com/2011/07/ge-refrigerator-ice-maker-will-not-stop.html ---------- This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

I have a GE Refrigerator DSS25PFMD, and a problem with the ice maker: the spring "bar" in the back that triggers ice being made (or not, when the box is out) has ice accumulating on it and it's...

Push the white paddle in three times slowly within 15 seconds. Then wait 2 minutes. You should see the ice maker start to cycle. If the ice maker doesn't cycle, replace the ice maker. If you need a new ice maker, you can go to the link below

Broken auger on ice maker needs to be replaced. Can't get apart.

You will have to remove the E ring that attaches to the end of the auger before you can pry the pats apart.

GE ICE MAKER, VERY LITTLE ICE,

I had this problem with my GE ice maker not working and it was an unbelievably easy fix. If you have the same ice maker then you will see a green light by the power switch. Below the ice maker is a "paddle" ice sensor. The paddle is attached to the ice maker and there is a coil type tension spring. If your paddle is loose, make sure the end of the spring (the pointy wire end) is inserted into a small hole. You probably can't see the hole but move the wire end until it pops into the small hole. You should now have tension on the paddle. At this point I had heard that the freezer light bulb may be drawing too much current for the ice makers motherboard. I removed the bulb and, UNBELIEVABLY, the ice maker began making ice! Try removing or replacing the LIGHT BULB first!
