Hello & Welcome to FixYa

The problem can be with the water inlet valve that is bad and needs replacement. If you have already checked the valve then check for 120Vac at the two wires for auger motor, if it has 120V then replace the auger if it does not then replace the control board. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Hi,

Check whether you have good water pressure coming to the refrigerator. If that is not the case then then you may have faulty water valve. There are two water valves in this refrigerator; one feeds both the icemaker and the water dispenser (two separate control solenoids) the other feeds the water filter. Check the water valves .Also pull the ice tray and look at the back for an on/off switch. Check whether its in off position or not. Click the switch on and off for two three times, this will reset the switch function. Now turn the switch on and put the ice tray back on the position and see if it functioning or not. To ensure that the ice container is pushed in completely, make sure that you lift the ice compartment door before pushing in your ice container. When the ice container is pushed in completely, the auger is able to engage and dispense ice.Try this:-

Open freezer door,Pull out your ice container,Lift the ice compartment door,Push your ice container in completely,Lower your ice compartment door.

Please get back to us if you have further query else please accept the suggestion.

My whirlpool stopped making ice cubes , water dispenser is o.k. and water to ice cube pan (rubber tube) won't stop running (leaking)

You are going to have to check the water solenoid to see if it is operating correctly. The solenoid operates from the AC power through a micro switch on the rotating cam. When the switch operates the solenoid is jerked out and allows water to flow. When the switch opens (timed to fill up the ice tray) spring pressure snaps the solenoid shut blocking the water flow. If the solenoid valve sticks in the open or partially open position, it allows water to leak by.

My Whirlpool is not making ice cubes and the tray is dry, no water inside the ice maker but the water dispenser is working fine.

Most likely the water control valve on the rear of the refrigerator is defective on the ice maker side. Fill the ice maker with tap water and if it dumps the ice and does not refill then the water control valve is the reason. Usually an ice maker that still had cubes and will not dump the problem would be the ice maker. Hope that helped you, Thanks, Sea Breeze

Freezer stopped making ice cubes

Pour about 2/3 cup of water into the ice maker . If it dumps , then replace the dual water valve behind the refrig . If it does not dump the frozen cubes , replace the ice maker .

Only crushed ice comes out of dispenser

your model # is incomplete but here it goes.

1.take your ice container out and run hot water thru it. you want to defrost all of the ice build up inside of it's housing.
2. make sure the long lever under the container moves up & down when you press on it.
3.w/the container removed, you will see a fork like object and next to it amn openning w/a small plastic square part inside. make sure that part moves freely up & down. that solenoid is what gives cubed ice.

let's start there first

Ice Maker not working

Get me the model number. Put tap water in ice maker tray and make sure arm is down. Let it freeze. Wait and see if the ice will drop, this should allow water to come into the ice maker for another run. Let me know, Thanks, Sea Breeze

Sub-Zero 550 - freezer unit is chilling, but not freezing

Ice maker was intermittent at best - ice was often just a shell. After two failures to correct we had the ice maker (a Whirlpool - on a Sub Zero - Go figure) replaced. Then the paddle that detects the ice level broke. Next step a new GE.
