Self cleaning

There is a SAFETY INTERLOCK, if you opened it then locked... Is that what you said? It can not clean if the door is not locked.

If you unplug the stove and this will give it a reset. but you may have done some mechanical damage that you will have to inspect to see what it is doing. Is the Locking handle working properly? Is anything jammed ? Ect... Look at the Mechanical components first...

Whirlpool self cleaning oven will not heat up after cleaning. Lights and fan come on but not the elements. I have 223 volts to oven.it is model number RS696PXE

Hello Ken, welcome to FixYa.

It sounds like the hi-limit safety thermostat may be tripped, the scenario you described is exactly how this would manifest

"
oven will not heat up after cleaning. Lights and fan come on but not the elements
"

...that is the component that typically trips/activates during a self clean on many ranges. You shouldn't need to open the front control panel, but access is through the back. (this can also occur during power surges)

You'll need to slide the range/oven out from the cabinet. If you slide the unit away from the wall and unplug it you can check the hi-limit.

Based on the model number you provided it should be a non-reset type hi-limit or push to reset. If non-reset it needs to be replaced.

**Unplug the range from the wall first of course...safety first**

Once you remove the panel you will need to look for a switch/thermostat which looks like either of these...

NON-RESET

PUSH TO RESET
(Not likely...unless model is wrong)

The replacement if necessary are available at "searspartsdirect.com" or "repairclinic.com" to name a couple.

Let me know how you make out. Good luck. I'll watch for your reply and if you need anything further I'll be glad to help in any manner I can.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

Bottom oven not heating. Both light and fan are working.

If fan is working o/k then it is usually the oven element that is faulty, this should be located at the rear of the oven compartment behind a removeable cover.

What is the f7 fault code

I have the double wall ovens. The lower oven read door lock & flashed F7. Check to make sure the lock is not sticking out a bit, it is on the left side of the oven. I'm not sure if this is what the f7 fault code is, but it worked for me :)

Google searches report that after running the self cleaning cycle this can happen. I am experiencing this issue with my Fisher&Paykel AeroTech Double OD302 but with the BOTTOM oven. I'm concerned as Thanksgiving is coming up and I need this baby working!

most ovens use a cut in limpet themostat(sometimes called button stat) typically normally open and closed at 40deg c. it will be this that will be not resetting to the open position at room temp. on rarer models the timer controls the cooling fan. some models of aeg and electrolux have a thermal delaying device located in abulb in the wiring loom. hope this helps

Oven wont work after cleaning

I have a single wall oven by fisher paykel I have had the same problem with it not working after the last self cleaning mode.

no fault codes show and the fan and light comes on and blows out cold air. I have reset the power and still it wont heat. broiler is out too. I called the store where purchased and was told they will order a part and come out. This must be an ongoing problem as they did not need to come out and trouble shoot .

I will have to barbeque for a while !
