Question about Kenmore 54501 Dehumidifier
First check if the compressor is running, if you hear a buzzfor a few seconds, every few minutes, then you have a faulty compressor or atleast faulty start components on the compressor. Disconnect the power cord from the power source. Remove thecompressor cover and check for any burnt wire connections on the compressor oroverload. If you do not see any burnt wires then the failure could be the controlboard, an open overload or open compressor windings. Some continuity checkswould be needed to see if the compressor and overload is okay. Youmay also have a control board failure. If it not working properly, then you have to change it.
