Question about Sanyo Televison & Video

1 Answer

The right side of our screen keeps going dark, almost black. Once I tapped the side of the tv and it popped back to normal. Sometimes it goes back to normal by itself. It is black most of the time though. Is this fixable?

Yes usually fixable unless its the panel goning bad. What if you squeze the panel where the black bar is does that effect it. If so the cabinet is probably bowed. Hope this helps.

Our Sony Bravia tv picture keeps going light dark light dark. What is causing this problem? It is very annoying when it goes dark because you can't see the picture. Please help.

I have Sony KDL-32XBR9 and I have noticed a similar problem. When the picture is showing mostly black, for example during the ending credits of a movie, the TV will further darken the display. Once the picture lightens back up, the TV will adjust the brightness of the display back to normal. I just called Sony customer support and they indicated it was a firmware problem and they will be sending a USB device in the mail to update the firmware. Hope this helps.

36" CRT Toshiba has that vertical issue mentioned on here a bit

Your problem is most likely caused by a cold solder joint in the vertical circuit. Normally this is easy to find and correct. The problem will only get worse over time, but not likely for more damage to occur.
