SOURCE: Blakeslee CC-30 Planetary Mixer & dough hook not mixing correctly

it sounds like you may have a sheared key on one of the shafts.with no product in the mixer will it run in any other speeds?when mixing pizza dough you should only use 1st gear.if it does run in other speeds you have a sheared key or broken shaft,if it doesnt run in any speeds drop the planetary and check the key on that shaft.

SOURCE: KitchenAid 600, Stand Mixer -

If the beater is grinding when it meets resistance, it generally indicates that an internal gear has broken or been stripped.

With the Professional 600 stand mixer, up to 14 cups of white flour or only 8 cups of any flour are recommended at one time. Speed 2 is the only speed that should be used for bread dough and it should never be kneaded for longer than 7 minutes. Failure to do any of these things make cause problems for the mixer motor.

If you are interested in self-repair, I recommend mendingshed.com. They have internal parts available to order and also have a .pdf file for the Kitchenaid Mixer Service Manual.

If you are interested in a repair facility, please visit the following link:

This is a listing of certified repair locations.

Also, if the mixer is less than a year old, Kitchenaid may replace it under their 1 Year Manufacturer's Warranty. I would recommend calling their customer service. Their toll-free telephone number is:

SOURCE: Model 62300 - are flat bears or dough hooks available?

You probably can--but you might have to contact the manufacturer. Most retail stores will not sell parts like this (and if they do, it's probably a store that will be something like a kitchen specialty store--aka, a little more pricey), so the best way to go is to contact them directly so that they can get it for you (and, a lot of times, they can get it for you at a cheaper price, or, if you're under warranty, and the beaters/dough hooks have broken, sometimes for FREE!!).

Their contact number should be either stamped somewhere on the mixer (usually on the bottom--might be stamped directly into the plastic, so make sure you have it in really good light when trying to read) or in the product manual (usually near the back of the book). If you still can't find it, you can usually just do a quick internet search (just typing in the manufacturer name--in this case, "Hamilton Beach"--and then "support" into Google usually helps).
Good luck! :)

Beater is stuck

I had this happen on my Kitchen Aid mixer. There is probably a build up of dough/cake mix etc inside the hole where the beater fits into. Fill a mixing bowl or a jug deep enough to fit over beater with very hot or boiling water. Immerse the stuck beater in the water up to where it connects in to the mixer and hold for about minute. Once the hot water has melted the build up you should be able to remove the beater. Hopefully this may work on your brand of mixer.

How do i insert dough hooks into stand mixer professional 600??? There are no holes.

Your Flat Beater, Wire Whip and Dough Hook attachement ends should
look the same. They are inserted onto the beater shaft and held in place
by a single pin. The reason you cannot attach the dough hook to the
beater shaft because it is the wrong hook for your particular model.

Dry clumps in pizza dough

Hi. You should consider a few things. They type of hook you use, can greatly affect your end result. If you're making a yeasted dough with a high protein percentage 12-13%, you should be using an "ED" hook, this is a spiral hook that has a sharp turn at the tip. You can find them on eBay for a competitive price. I believe that Hobart also sells them, but for a higher price. They are very good for mixing pizza type doughs, they also do an excellent job kneading the dough.

Have you checked the flour for lumps before it goes into the mixer? Have you tried sifting the flour?
Are you adding all the liquid and flour at once? If so try adding flour in stages to all the liquid. If you find that this solution helps you, please rate it. Good luck! ricardok45
