Hi,
Water leaking from dispenser drawer can be caused by blockage due to remaining detergent or additives that has clogged the water flow through the dispenser. A clogged dispenser can block the flow of water through the dispenser and cause water to leak. Manually remove the dispenser, and clean it. Also, check the detergent drawer remains closed during the cycle. If the drawer is not completely closed, water can leak onto the floor.Sameway dirty door seal can also cause a leak. Clean any dirt or deposits around the inner door seal with a damp cloth. The door glass seals against the rubber seal; dirt or deposits can prevent a proper seal and cause leaks.

Electrolux frontloader washer detergent drawer won't stay shut

Hello royal37 - Hi - The dispenser drawer could either be cracked or have a broken latch due to interference between the drawer front and top panel. Contact a professional to move forward accurately and might possibly need to order a service kit (PN: 137146000/part number may be different depending on your model number).

Tip

Bad smell inside washer

Every Frontload washer on the market today has a smell issue or potential to have one quite easily. In fact the smell problem has been there since these Frontload washers were introduced. The real kick is instead of recognizing the problem and addressing it some of the manufacturers have even started selling consumers cleaners to help reduce the smell problem. Yes they are profiting on the sale of cleaners, that deal with an issue they created. The closest they have come to addressing the issue is adding an extra cycle to your washer strictly for cleaning the washer. Basically you clean your washer so it can clean your clothes. Why didn't the salesperson tell you about the issue? Maybe because it was his first day, but probably because he was trying to sell you a washer.
Now all this said, is there anything you can do? First and foremost make absolutely sure you are using a HE (high efficency) detergent. Frontload washers use a very little amount of water and the HE detergent is not only concentrated so you use less but it is not as thick as regular detergent so it has a better chance of washing away clean. Concentrated detergent is NOT HE detergent and still may pose an issue if used. If you Don't know what HE detergent is, call the manufacturer, your grocery store, or the sales guy who sold it to you. On average you will never need more than 2 tablespoons per load. DO NOT go by the cap fill lines ever. These lines make the assumption everyone has the same water, load the washers the same and have equally dirty clothes. More is NEVER better in a Frontload. Bottom line is you want to make sure all the detergent is getting cleaned out of the washer after each use. If any remains it will start to deteriorate and deteriorating detergent can smell.
Secondly when you are done using the unit for the day, use a towel to dry off the rubber door boot and the inner door. Don't be afraid to pull the boot some to get as much of the water off as possible. The rubber is pretty thick and sturdy. And if at all possible leave the door open as long as possible to help what water is left inside the washer to evaporate. The washers have vents on the back but they do not work as well as venting on a top-load washer. Basically the water drops will collect in the bottom after usage and if the door gets closed that water can get stagnant, grow bacteria and even mold. These will also cause lovely fragrances to tickle your nose.
Finally if you want to try some of the washer machine cleaners they may help some to clean away any buildup that may be already inside the washer. However it seems silly to pay so much for a washer and have to continually maintain a problem that is caused by the washer with cleaners produced by the washers manufacturer. If you try and cut back as much as possible (2 tablespoons) on detergent, and allow as much water to be cleaned out or evaporate the smells will resolve themselves. A good test to use if you think you have a buildup is fill the washer on it hottest cycle with the drum empty. Let it wash around for a few minutes and just look inside and see if you see suds. Suds in the washer tells you soap is still in the tub somewhere.

My Kenmore HE2 Pluse Front Load Washer is leaking water out of the Detergant compartment like it is overflowing.

sounds like the hose from the soap dispenser to the tub is blocked. might need the repairman for this one. anything you might try sticking in there to clean or clear it may damage it. also watch what kind of detergent and amount you are using. can cause problems.

Water runs from out the detergent dispenser on my front loader

Try pulling the drawer out again and look in the hole. Look on the bottom for detergent or softener piled up and allowing the water to come out the door or anything clogging the tube in the back of the hole. Look on the top, there are a bunch of little holes, make sure none of these are clogged, clean with a toothbrush and sewing pin if clogged. Take the drawer completely apart and clean thoroughly, check for any cracks. If nothing is found here Take the lid off with the 3 screws in the back and push the lid toward the back of washer and lift off. Run the washer and check for the leaks with a flashlight. DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING ELECTRICAL. As there is a shock hazard with the lid off.
Thank you

Water is coming out of the area were you put the detergent. Hoses are all connected and seam to be in good condition.

I take it his is a frontload style washer. You probably have soap buildup underneath the detergent tray, where the soapy water enters the hose that goes to the tub. Try to remove the soap tray and clean the buildup.

Hello. My frontload LG Washer started leaking

I have the same problem I think. During the wash cycle, water sometimes starts spraying/leaking from the detergent dispenser drawer. This orignally only happened during a 'NORMAL' wash and when I ran a 'SPEED WASH' it was ok. Now all of a sudden it's doing it during the 'SPEED WASH' also. I though it might be the water pressure so I turned down the flow going to the washer but that doesn't seem to help. If I knew how the detergent system worked maybe it would be easier to solve this problem.

We have a Kenmore frontloader pooring water from soap dispenser

You could have a clog in the housing underneath the dispenser where the water flows through a hose into the tub.
Pull the dispenser drawer completely out.
There is a tab that needs to be depressed to release the drawer and remove it.
Check the opening at the bottom of the housing just inside the dispenser housing opening to see if a small sock or garment is clogging this opening.
Reach down into this opening to see if an item is inside the hose.
This is the normal issue that will cause water to leak out of the dispenser housing.

Wash the dispenser drawer thoroughly with warm water. Make sure that you pull off the siphon covers and wash all siphon holes. This process is described in your owner's manual. Replace the dispenser drawer and try the washer again.
