SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

Try removing the sdcard and then reinserting it, if that does not work if you can put the sdcard into another device(laptop, tablet,PC) to verify that the sdcard is working. If you get an error on the PC then your sdcard has gone bad if it works in your pc then most likely the phones sdcard slot is malfunctioning(check to make sure the sdcard slot is not dirty)

When I try to put music on the micro sdcard I cant. Then I try format the sdcard and it tells me the sdcard is write protected.

I suppose you are using the card via inserting it in the CAP ( Holder) that came with the card to be able to make it used with card reader.

So, the Micro SD card gets locked only through it's CAP (Holder)

Steps to Unlock :

Insert the card into the CAP (Holder).
Please check the Upper Left side of the CAP (Holder).
There must be One switch which will slide Up and Down.
Push that switch to Upper side. (Pushing to downward will lock while the reverse will Unlock the Card).
Now Insert it to Card Reader to use it.

Hope it Helps..!!!

Hello there,

You have to inspect and take a look at the side, there is a small switch. You just need to move it the other way around to disable write-protect.

Eject the SDcard. With the label facing you there should be a small tab/lever on the top left-hand side. slide this from the 'LOCK' or 'protect' setting. This should now work properly for you.
