i have the same problem but it started with the top screen flickering, then it started to cut out altogether. i'd like to know if it would be expensive to fix.

Hi, my son has the same problem. He charged it and then went to play a game, but the power just flashes on, but no picture or sound.
Took it to Gamestop...they had no solution---said we may have to buy a new one.
If anyone has a solution, let us know.

My sons DS does the same thing. It does not matter if the charger is plugged in or not. His DS was purchased last Christmas, but he peeled off the serial number tag and Nintendo can not fix it with out the serial number. My sons DS does the same thing. Most times its from a fall, the ribbon cable gets jarred and the pin connections are so small that two of them cross and short out. they have to be perfectly aligned. I know its a hassle to ship it but if you take it apart you may break the power switch on the circuit board rendering it completely useless. they are very fragile. I'll fix the connection for you for $10 if the ribbon cable got pinched in the left hinge it will do the same thing, but then the top screen will need to be replaced, I can do that for $24. I won't know until I take it apart.

the Wii power brick will go bad, try having someone bring there's to your house, and if your Wii works buy a new one Shop Nintendo Nintendo Online Store
Electronics like a Nintendo DS get messed up if you get them all wet (e.g. drop it in a tub full of water). My guess is after you got your DS all wet, your touch screen stopped working.
since it's obvious your son has broken it... i suggest for his birthday upgrading to the Nintendo Wii...
simply ask him how he feels about this to gather a group feeling about the situation.. check with the spouse, if any, in regards to this matter also!
yes it is fixable sounds like your fault is with the top screen are the hinges ok has it been dropped.
most green light and screen flashes point to a defective screen or connection on the mother board or sometimes fuses. id start with checking the motherboard connection if its ok check the fuses if all is ok buy a new top screen and replace it.
I suggest that you get it fixed. The DS may have been dropped, had something spilled on it, etc. Getting it fixed is cheaper, and right now, the less money spent, the better.
