Hi,

Inadvertently, you did a soft reset. Like most current electronic devices, a reset can and may revert a stuck/frozen/hanged to default factory conditions.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

Incidentally, the reset is done by pressing the "Mode"(reset/lap) and "Power" buttons at the same time.

Additionally, you may want to update the unit to the latest available firmware here.

Looks like its dead.

Best solution, sell it on ebay as is (ud be suprised how many people would bid on it for spare parts) and use that money, with a little bit on top from you to buy a new one

Cheers

That can be a problem with charging part of the unit or the unit is completely dead, if its still under warranty you can try to replace it from the manufacturer..

Hope that helps.............

The batteries have a shelf life. So they can die just from sitting and not being used.

What you can try is charge it and discharge it a 'few' times (few can mean 20-30 or more or less) it can revive the battery.

Replacement battery's are cheap $15 and up. So if you got these free it is worth putting one in.

Your initial thought is probably the answer, the battery has internally short circuited due to age. In this case, the charger cannot produce enough energy to overpower the battery's consumption. While I do not recommend trying this, a tech center I worked at would "shock" a battery back to life by connecting it to a car charger for a few seconds to eek a few more weeks or months of use out of one. Again, I don't recommend this as a battery can explode and cause harm when treated this way.

That is your battery telling you it has had enough. Usually they last about 2 years. You can buy a replacement battery from about $15 and up. Usually these replacements have more capacity than the originals and so you get much longer usable run time.

You can send it in to get it replaced but it is a very simple job to do yourself. You just need a 5.5 torx screwdriver to take 4 screws out and open the case. Undo one connector remove the old battery and then put the cover back on and the screws back in. Carge overnight and you are up and running.

If you do a search on google or bing you will find dozens of places that sell the battery and/or will replace it for you.

If you look at this link it shows the battery and shows a video on how to replace the battery. Have a look at that and it should give you an idea if you feel comfortable to fix it yourself.

Same Problem

Your best bet is getting a new battery! I had this issue at about the 2 year mark and it started out of the blue. The battery would show fully charged and then all of a sudden while I am talking I start hearing some static and then the person on the other end could no longer hear me and the phone would go dead. I would have to take the battery out and put it back in for it to even power back on. When it did power back on (if it would even do so) the battery charge indicator would show red indicating no battery life left. To be certain this is the issue I would suggest keeping your phone plugged in to the wall/car charger while you are using it and see if the static auto turnoff issue happens while it is connected to a power source. It should not disconnect on you while connected.

I also noticed that the battery appeared to be a little "puffy" like one of the cells within the battery itself may have imploded and shorted out if that makes sense. Good Luck.

LG viewty ku990 - no battery life and phone gets really hot

So many issues here so lets take one by one.

Phone not charging or goes off before the recommended time means your battery is bad and needs a replacement. Batteries are not serviceable and hence cannot be repaired or fixed. You just have to change it.

PC not recognising USB port is due to an issue with the driver the PC needs to communicate with your phone.

Get the right driver and PC Suite to enable your PC recognize your Phone through the USB

Old unit not powering on

Hold down the power button and push the reset button. Then select the corresponding cancel button (unless you want to loose everything. If that doesn't work, pull the battery and the backup battery. You will loose everything but it might bring it back to life.

My H5450 won't charge!

When you charge up your iPaq, do you use the cradle, or do you use the AC-adapter with the little iPaq power converter that came with the iPaq? Try both, and see if it charges up your pda. Try and borrow an iPaq car-charger and see if it charges up that way (the ones that do not need the iPaq power converter). If you are lucky enough to power up the iPaq even for 2 minutes, enable USB fast charging in the SETTING -> BATTERY. Your USB-data-cable or cradle will then be able to charge it up that way...
