Question about Razor E300 Scooter

1 Answer

Scooter seems louder than it should be... a sort of grinding noise when you push it along on the ground, and/or ride it. The sound isn't harsh, but it is not a stealth scooter by any means. Tried lubricating the bearings on the rear wheel with bike chain (wax based) lubricant, but no improvement. Am I going to have to take off the rear wheel and deal with chain or brake adjustments, or is a bit of noise normal with these scooters?

No it is not if you are riding it the chain can suddenly stop and you will be thrown off head first off of the scooter and die. DO NOT AND I MEAN DO NOT RIDE UNTILL IT IS PRACTICALLY SILENT. CAUSE ONE TIME I WAS RIDING IT, THE CHAIN STOPPED AND FLUNG ME OFF. I BROKE MY RIB CAGE, BOTH OF MY LEGS, AND MY ARMS. I HAD TO STAY IN THE HOSPITAL FOR A MONTH. THEY HAD TO PUT ME ON BREATHING TUBES BECAUSE MY LUNGS WERE CLASPING. I RECOVERED BUT NOW IM PARALYZED FROM THE WAIST DOWN.

Runs ok but is noises. Makes sort of a grinding noise. Seems to be coming from motor or trans.

hi Richard, that noise is normally cause by one of the axle's bearing , by safely lifting the wheels off the floor, you should run the scooter and feel next to where axle goes into the gearbox around that area with care. you will be able to confirm what bearing it is, now if the whole gearbox sounds noisy and grinding when you touch it , that means at best it needs urgent lubrication or at worse the worm gears inside or badly worn..

If you remove the motor from the gearbox , i have seen where the coupler has broken and is rubbing, once again do this with gear..

Regards
Rob

Noise when steering

your question is pretty broad, what sort of noise can tell us allot about what the problem can be. If it's a whining type noise it's more than likely something to do with the power steering. either the fluid is low ir the pump isn't working, it could also be a bad rack and pinion. If it's a clunking type noise it could be shocks, struts, ball joint, etc etc. If it's a grinding type noise it could be bearings or brakes. It's really hard to say with little to no information of the problem

I hear a loud grinding noise when i drive my car

Check front tyres & wheel bearings espesially the R/H/F. Feel tyre for high / low spots on inside & jack up & spin wheel if you get noise while jacked up it is not the tyres but wheel bearing or brake pads but more than likly a crook bearing by the sound of it. It needs to be tended to ASAP

52 grinding noise from under car . not sure if it

Hi, When a grinding noise is detected first locate the area of the car it is being generated from. Most grinding noises will be being generated while driving, if you are having a hard time detecting the location of the grinding sound, have a helper ride along in the rear seat to give a new perspective on the origin of the grinding noise. A grinding noise can be generated by many things from worn out brake pads to axle bearing failure. Once a grinding sound has been detected action must be prompt. Grinding in most cases is telling you something has failed or is failing. It can be as a result of worn out brake pads or shoes, check your engine and transmission mount, check for axle bearing failure, check your power steering system for leak...

My Kenmore Trio sounds like it's breathing, creaking.

Wow, mine does too sometimes! Breathing and sighing noises. Like it's sniffing? Inhale and exhale... Really freaked me out, I thought some kind of large animal had chewed through the floorboards and was under the freezer! I looked all over and it isn't an animal, (i hope!!) but seems to be coming from inside the freezer compartment because it's louder with the door open. Maybe it's the defrost cycle or something?
