Question about Lands Phones

My Philips CD255/SE255 phone has started to give problems in respect of the answer machine. It is, most often, giving a message stating the mail box is full when people ring and I am not in. I have tried all the things mentioned in the frequently asked questions but nothing works. I have deleted all messages, disconnected for a few minutes then re-connected, checked the answer machine is not off. any ideas please? Paul Brooke

    I have tried your 2 suggestions. I am able to store contacts and their numbers BUT a new message I cannot get to work.Does this mean I shall have to get the technicians involved?

Hello Paul, When i first read your problem the first thing that came to my mind was for you to delete all the messages but upon reading further i found out you have done that. If the unit keeps on indicating that the message memory is full then you should try to check if the messages have been fully deleted. If this is so then get someone to help you check if the device memory is still intact and good to store messages, this you can test by trying to store a contact information on the device or changing your voicemail message on the device. If the contact stores or the new voicemail message is saved then the processor inside the unit is the problem. This might have to be replaced and can be done by phillips technicians as they would supply the replacement processor.

It is crucial to understand that Voice Mail is a
service sometimes offered by the telephone
service provider (whom we used to call "the
phone company"). This Voice Mail is totally
separate from the messages we can record &
manage with an Answering Machine System.

Managing the Voice Mail is a function done by
the service provider's methods & procedures
and is not specific to the cordless phone.

Call your telephone service provider and ask them
to explain how to manage their "voice mail features".

Answering machine turned off but voicemail message displaying on handsets


i have the same problem, looks like it is just a bad set up and taking it back. My guess is I had bluetooth setup at one point to sync my cell with the phone and the phone registered the mail queue of my cell phone and not the mail of the cordless phone unit, so despite clearing it from the cordless phone, it still thinks there is voicemail from when it last accessed my cell phone. Terrible...and I can't find a solution either and won't waste time doing so... returning it.

Philips cd255/se255 constantly goes searching when u try to answer call and often cuts completely


This happened to me and I just replaced the batteries with freshly charged ones Stopped the problem immediately.

Hi,

Please delete the messages in mail box.The mail box is full so that it cannot store anymore messages it mail box.

Delete the messages and you can use this service again

On my TG 2740 Panasonic base unit the 'answer on' light blinks constantly and 'all mail box full' is blinking also but there are only 17 messages. How do I clear the blinking light and the all mail box...


If mail box is full, you cannot record any more messages, and the answering machine is practically useless. You must clear some messages.
Try playing the messages one by one. While a message is being played hit the Erase button. If that works, repeat with every unimportant message.

Most cordless telephone answering machines have a maximum of 14 minutes recording time. You can restrict the length of messages people are allowed to leave. Most default options are 1min or 4 minutes. Some machines give you the option to select Announcement Only. When this option is selected people hear the announcement but cannot leave a message.

Read you manual for more configuration options.

Talking on phone,someone calls in & leaves message, can't locate


Thanks for the opportunity to help with your problem. If you also have voice mail through your phone service provider, it's possible that while you are on the phone, the incoming call is "waiting" (meaning you are hearing a beep while you are still talking assuming you have call waiting). If you don't pick up the incoming call, your caller will hear your "voice mail" message and leave a message. However, your answering machine will not indicate that you have a message.

I purchased the philips cd255 phone yeasterday could you tell me if the base station should ring when the handsets not on and why do both hand set say new calls even when i clear one of them should it not...


To your 2nd question, the handsets operate independently, so any operation on one does not affect the others, whether storing a phone number or clearing records of calls.

Voice mail issue


Here is what is suppose to happen. Once you leave a message at Rogers, they are to send your phone a "stutter dial tone" signal back to your phone. When you phone gets this signal, it is to light your messag light. So we need to figure out if Rogers is sending the signal, and if your light is working. So, leave yourself a message. Give Rogers a minute or two to send the signal. Pick up your phone to make a call. Do you hear a "stuttery" type dial tone? If not, it sounds as if the Rogers system is not providing the signal. Okay, if your light is not on, then lets test the light by taking the Rogers VM out of the equation. Go to your Panasonic answering machine menu, and turn it on, then turn the number of rings set to 1, and save that. Now call the phone. It should answer after a ring or two, and your call should never make it to Rogers AM. Leave a message and see if your Panasonic answering machine takes the message and lights the light. If it does not light the light even though your message was recorded and saved, then you may have a bad light. If it lights the light, go back into your menu and turn the machine off, and look for any settings regarding using the "telephone company voice mail" or review your message light settings, etc. Hope this helps

call your phone service and have them disconnect the voice mail and if they cant just remove that have them set there rings at like 9 since most phones only have up to 5 rings for the machine to answer.you will have to use there voice mail service to hear your message and then delete it but should be good after that. i have comcast and they said it would take 3 days to deactivate voice mail but told me how to get there so i can get rid of that flashing light, hope this helps you
