Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

Open Question

I get power cuts fairly often. Sometimes the HP 2410 shows the egg timer symbol, as if it's working on printing something, but there is nothing in the print queue. When it starts up, it goes into a 'hunting' mode, with what sounds like gears slipping, repetitively. I have tried the "Hold OK and Cancel, take the power plug out, then plug it back in" rote several times. A message saying "Deriv cleared" comes uo, and "Turn power on"...but it doesn't fix the problem. It seems to be an intermittant prblem...sometimes it clears itself if I leave the power off, other times it doesn't. Can you advise? Cheers and thanks Short

I have found the answer elsewhere, but I will pass it on to you, gratis. "Hold the cancel button down throuightout the printer start-up sequence".

    Thanks anyway.

best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: my hp psc 2410 photosmart printer will not print - only copy

Check to make sure your PSC 2410 is in fact the default printer. If it is, make sure your cable is firmly plugged in to your printer and CPU. Clear the print queue. Turn off and restart printer. I have found that your problem is basically a communication problem between the computer and printer. Also check www.hp.com. Good luck.

Hp psc 2410 photosmart driver win7

HP no longer provides support for drivers for this printer. The newer Windows OS will support the printer natively, but sometimes it requires a little finesse from the user. Here is a link to an HP forum where folks tell how they worked out the communications issue for the print and scanning functions. Hope this helps!

The carraige is moved by a toothed rubber belt and plastic gears. Unplug the machine, open the front cover, and manually relocate the print carraige to the far right. Close the cover and plug machine back in. Hope this helps.

Are you using a high speed USB cable? The old serial cables do not work as well and can sometimes balk at data transfer.

Documents are printing slanted on page

It sounds like need some technical maintenance and at that point you have two options.. take it to a service center, or buy another printer (or if whithin warranty talk to HP about your problem, your attempts to fix it and possibly get it replaced). sounds like a component inside your printer may be either not working properly or there's something inside keeping the rolling componentes from keeping the page straight as it goes through your printer.
It does not sound like a driver problem...
btw.. did you mean carriage jam or cartridge jam??
if it was carriage:
