Question about AudioCodes MediaPack MP-114 FXS and FXO Analog / Digital Phone Line Converter

Open Question

We got a new MP114 VOIP gateway with 4XFXS and 4X FXO. We connected the telco DDI line into the FXS port for fax over ip solution. The fax gateway behind connects to a Rightfax server running SR140 FOIP channel. Problem is that when we fax from sender subscribed A telco company to the recipient with SAME A telco DDI line subscribed with gateway and fax server; there is no problem at al. However the fax sender and recipient is come from DIFFERENT telco; the AUdio codees will drop the line in mid way and caused transmission error shown in Rightfax server. Audio codes support from China seems also got no way to fix it.

Unable to access a fresh Audio codes box via http using default IP address.

What IP address are you pointing at? 10.1.10.10? 192.168.0.1? try with 10.1.10.10 and worst case scenario install wireshark on your PC and take a trace when connected directly to MP and power it on, there you will see some bootp messages (IP address 0.0.0.0) and after that you will see messages from MP announcing its IP address. If device is brand new you should login fine using Admin / Admin. Beware that some internet explorers do not allow login even with right user/password, try with a couple of them.

I have a 1 port fxs voip voice modem, i have connected it and it is working. but the problem is that any time i power off my pc, i will have to reprogram it. can any body help me please?

the pc and ata are not reliant on each other. ensure the ata is plugged directly into you router.
unplug the lan lead and do a factory reset the ata via the ivr. once the unit has restarted plug in the lan and get the ip address via the ivr. set up the ata, rebooting after each page update (do not update more than 1 page before rebooting the ata).
you should now have a functioning ata and should be able to turn off your pc without issue.
if the ata now loses its settings then it is probably faulty (I've had a couple of ht386s go faulty in a similar way).

How configure proxy on mp114 fxs

Download your INI config file and search for ISPROXYUSED under [SIP Params] block, if is not there add the line as follows:
ISPROXYUSED = 1
Then search for ProxyIp 0 under [ProxyIp] block and if there is no line add it as follows:
ProxyIp 0 = your.proxy.ip.address, -1, 0;

This will set a unique proxy IP address for all the SIP outgoing traffic of your MP, if you wish to use more than one SIP Proxy you may want to consider setting IP address on Routing menu.

Using on voip

If your VOIP adapter has only one service line (VOIP PIN configured) then you have to remove the phone line and connect the FAX line. Now if you have the two service lines (in the both port separate VOIP PIN should be configured) - then you may connect this FAX to the other port. Both (Phone as well ad FAX) will work simultaneously. (Remember - two seperate PINS are required if you attach phone as well as FAX line in same adapter). After attaching the FAX - every think is normal like normal FAX line. Generally you don't have to dial pre country code like 011 or 00 or +, just dial the number starting from Country code.

Way to reset mp-114 audio code to factory settings and configure

Unplug the network cable and hold in the RESET button (small hole on back of unit) with a paperclip for 6 - 10 seconds. The default IP is 10.1.10.10 sm 255.255.0.0 if it is an FXS
10.1.10.11 sm 255.255.0.0 if it is an FXO

E1 or T1 to pabx to router to softphone

Yes, configure second Cisco E1 port to simulate you telcom (network side) and connect it to PB, and first Cisco E1 to your telecom provider.

On Cisco router configure voice ports, and number manupilation, so you can catch any call and redirect it anywhere (Voip, Telco, PBX).

I tryed that with Ericcson, and it didn't work until connections where like these
telco <-> Cisco VoIP gateway (E1x2) <-> PBX

PBX's are not very flexible, Cisco is.

AFTER CALLER HANGED UP PHONE, THE REMOTE SITE STILL RINGING

A long standing problem with FXO's and FXS connections is the latency in Voip and signaling. That is there is a delay from the time sent to time received. There should be software settings to adjust the delay. I would refer back to the manufacture of the FXO card and see if there are any software patches or upgrades. This is a software problem.
