Visually check the slot for damaged pins. If that's not the case, a bit of contact cleaner on both the ram and the slot (Radio Shack, Fry's, or CompUSA.) I like the Caig line, personally. Make sure that you have power off, disconnect the cord, and discharge the supply by pressing the on button or you can ruin the ram or the slot with a discharge over the pins.
