A possible cause could be that the wireless printer is configured to use the same IP address as your router or something else on the network, all device IP addresses should be different, but on the same range, ie 192,168.1.1 the 192,168.1.2 , 192.168.1.250 etc

Connecting new linksys n to our brother mfc685cw wireless printer. Printer will not read new linksys n router

Hi,

For isolation purposes, you may want to test the printer through the Linksys router via Ethernet cable and see if you can print if it is wired to the router. From there, configure the wireless printer to match the settings on your Linksys router. Once done, try printing again wirelessly.

Tips:
1. Make sure that they are on the same LAN segment. By default the IP address of the Linksys router is 192.168.1.1. so you may want to configure your printer using 192.168.1.2 for them to communicate.
2. Make sure that the wireless settings on the Linksys router match the wireless settings on your wireless printer. Check the SSID/Wireless Network Name and Wireless Security. All wireless settings should be the same for them to communicate wirelessly.
