Measure it accurately or try someone else's and see if it is an exact fit. And there are a LOT of seat post sizes differing by .1 mm so you don't want to get the wrong one. If you go to a Bicycle Shop they can solve your problem very quickly.

Raise seat

where the post beneath the saddle meets the frame, you will find a quick release skewer. pull the part that looks like a tab outwards, it will swing around and outwards, loosening the seat post. you should now be able to twist and raise the seat post, then flip the tab back down.

All are the same size ... they come in Right hand and Left hand ... dont try to change them. Left is as seen from the rider seat.

I got my bike yesterday and when i pedal it makes like a loud version of craking your knuckles, it is really annoying and it is almost like a thud and it happens a lot and it comes from the under the seat.

If the seat has springs it could be them, but it could also be a thousand things. I would recommend that you take it to a bike shop. If you just got it yesterday then you could also try taking it back to where you bought it. Return it or ask that if be replaced because it is defective.

After assembling my bike myself, I cannot get the bike seat into it's aperture. It won't fit. even with the tightening mechanism completely loose. Any tips for logging it in place?

The manual for single speed bke is here...

http://www.huffy.com/Support/OwnersManuals.aspx

It's possible they supplied the wrong diameter seat post. It should slide in snugly. Don't force it.

You could call their Consumer Service Department 1.800.872.2453 to determine the cause of the problem.

Does the seat tube appear to be pinched tight? There is a "kerf", a slot, in the end of the tube that allows the seat tube to constrict when the bolt on the seat clamp is tightened. Does that slot narrow down toward the end of the tube or is it uniformly open? Is the end of the seat tube bent/crushed/dented? If any of these conditions are present, this could impede installation of the seat post.

Hope this helps.

How do you raise the seat?

  • The seat connects to the seat post and the seat post inserts into the seat tube
  • you will have to first loosen the seatpost clamp located where the seat tube meets the seat post.
  • after loosening, you should be able to raise the seat to your desired height, just don't forget to tighten teh seatpost clamp.

I just bought a mens 26 inch cranbrook from wal mart and they did not have a manul and no warrantiy.why do they do that to me ? what do i do to get a warranity ? don,t a person fill out papper work and...

If you are that mad, return it Fall-Apart, whoops I mean Wal-Mart, and take the money to your local bike shop that will support the products they sell.....The cranbrook line is manufactured by Huffy. There is a manual available in PDF format you can download from their website. You can also find Huffys contact information and you can call the customer service department and request they send you a manual and warranty paper work to fill out and send in. Bottom line, I will always recommend going to your local bike shop, they will support what they sell.
