Where can I find a free download for the usb driver required from the TASCAM DP-02 to my Windows 7?

I have the Tascam DP-02 it uses a fat 32 partition, Fat 32 partitions are pretty much obsolete replaced with the New Technology Filing System or N T F S for short. Using the DP-32 systems software try plugging the DP 32 in to your computer once the software for you new unit loads locate and open the fat 32 system folder I'm not sure if the DP 32 uses the same fat 32 partition, But if it does the fat 32 folder should be there, Locate and open it you should then be able to move or delete your recorded material as desired

Unfortunately no such driver is available, because tascam have discontinued that particular model.

Here is a way to get your recordings off the device

On the Tascam main menu, select "Wave." 2) On the Wave menu, select "Export Master." This saves your mastered song to the correct folder. 3) Connect the Tascam DP-01 to your computer. You will get a message telling you your USB device has malfunctioned. 4) On the Tascam menu, select "Disk." 5) On the Disk menu, select "USB OPN/CLS." Your computer should detect the DP-01 as a hard drive & be visible in "My Computer" on Windows.

Panasonic DP-3030 can be used with Windows 7 System. You need to download and install Windows 7 Drivers. Also, User's Manual & Driver's and installation can be download from the official support site. Windows 7 Drivers and all instructions are available here

I had the same problem too but I figured it out. First you have to make sure your wav file is converted to (MONO) as opposed to Stereo, (which is the default channel setting). The best thing to do is to download a converter program, in my case I downloaded AVS Converter program which all I did was upload the wav file switch it to Mono 1.0 and that was that!! The Cons: for this program it costs money to download for your own keeping. I also suggest Audacity program my computer wont let me download it but a co-worker of mine has it and he said it's free to download.

The TASCAM DP-02 Owner's Manual has no reference to a mount error in it. There are many people online complaining about mount errors on their computers, mac and win, when hooking the tascam up via USB, but your post suggests this error was on the DP-02 itself, is that correct?

I get less than a dozen hits of people asking this question online, and absolutely no useful answers or responses.

Do you have the DP-02CF model? If so, it may be a faulty CompactFlash Type I card that it is trying to mount. If there is a disk in the drive, I'd remove that cd in case it is trying to mount a bad disk.

I can most likely help troubleshoot a troublesome USB-to-computer connection, but otherwise I'm going to have to refer you to TASCAM customer service, (although I must say the forums I've perused have little positive to say about them.) TASCAM support in the UK (a guess, but you did use the term 'mains' in your post) is provided by TEAC UK Limited at +44-8451-302511 or www.tascam.co.uk.

The DP-02 operates almost exactly as the DP-01 did, so manuals and videos for one should pretty much guide you correctly when applied to the other, but the video in the first link is the correct on for the DP-02.

No CD comes with the DP-01. The Tascam relys on your computers USB drivers to work.

You should probably try the DP-01 on someones else's computer first to se if it works there.

This is usually some kind of incompatiblity between the usb cable or the use hub and the usb speed (1.1 or 2.0). I would try bypassing any usb hub you might have in use first. If that doesn't work you might want to try another usb cable.
