Thanks for the instructions. The Damani model is DGEUCCT900SS. I was told that it required a special sealant for re-assembly. Is that correct?
Also, do you know where I can get hold of an owners manual. I searched the internet but came up blank.

  • nke31026 May 25, 2011

Thanks again for the reply. Is it true about the special sealant?

This is the only MODEL I could find with the DEGS part of your model number. It may help. You can see it has a seal strip for the door glass and would also come with any adhesive needed. Directions should also be included with parts.

You did not mention which oven you have. However giving you a general instruction to slide out the glass between the oven door to perform the cleaning.

First you have to unhinge the oven door.Open the oven door and locate the hold-open lever and move the latch to the down position. Do the same for both sides.Slowly close the door until it contacts the hold-open levers, then lift the door slightly and pull out on the bottom of the door. Place the door on a table face down and locate the screws that hold the glass assembly to the face of the door. Be careful while pulling out or unhinging the door.
Now look for the screws around the door's perimeter and remove them. This will separate your oven door into two halves. Remove the screws and lift the glass assemble out of the face of the door. Once the glass assembly is loose, lift it out and turn it over. Then locate the screws to remove the inner glass panel. Remove the retainer and slip the glass out of the frame. At this point all sides of glass are open and can be cleaned easily as well as the frame of the glass assembly and door face. Always keep a note which side is front and which is back.So that it will be easy to reassemble it back and to adjust it properly in its original position.

To reassemble the door, simply reverse the steps. The glass assembly once placed into the door face will probably have to be lifted slightly to line up the screw holes. Don't tighten the screws to tight or they may strip. Place the door back into oven and ensure hinges are firmly in place prior to closing the hold-open levers.

Please get back to us if you have further query else please accept the suggestion.
Thank you for contacting

How to clean between glass oven doors on whirlpool oven?

You need to remove the inner door panel, Usually a few screws holding it on. On some models the handle screws also need to be removed. Do it slowly and carefully as the door may want to swing up quickly, once the weight on it is removed. Pay close attention to each step so all screws etc go back in the same place. Make a diagram as you take them out to be sure.

How do I take the glass out my oven door model AP578X-8

Hi, I have pasted the instructions for your Smeg oven you below:
9.4 Removing the internal glass panels
The glass in the door should always be kept thoroughly clean. To facilitate
cleaning, it is possible to remove the door (see 9.2 Removing the door) and
place it on a canvas, or open it and lock the hinges in order to extract the glass
The glass panels of the door can be completely removed by following the
instructions provided below.
Warning: before removing the glass panels, make sure that at least one of the
door's hinges has been locked in the open position as described in "9.2
Removing the door". This operation may have to be repeated during the glass
removal process if the door is accidentally freed.

Removing the internal glass panel:
• Remove the internal glass panel by
pulling it upwards, following the
movement indicated by the arrows. Doing
this detaches the 4 pins attached to the
glass from their slots in the oven door.
Removing the intermediate glass panels
(on some models only):
• Some multifunction models have an
intermediate glass panel. Remove the
intermediate panel by lifting it upwards.
• It is now possible to clean the external
glass panel and the panels removed
previously. Use absorbent kitchen roll. In
the case of stubborn dirt, wash with a
damp sponge and neutral detergent.
Replacing the glass panels:
• Replace the panels in the reverse of the
order in which they were removed.
• Reposition the internal glass panel, taking
care to centre and insert the 4 pins
attached to the glass into their slots in the
oven door by applying slight pressure.
