Open the System control panel, click on Hardware and open Device Manager. Check both the Video Adapter and Monitor items to see what kind of hardware is identified. If both are identified correctly, right-click on each and select "Properties" to find out what driver version is being used. If you get a "generic" driver, that is your problem. In that case, you'll first need to be sure your video card's driver is up to date - this may take care of the monitor problem. The monitor should support either 800x600 or 1024x768 resolution. One limitation, if you have onboard video, is you may not have enough shared RAM allocated to video use to provide for the higher resolution setting. You can adjust this in the BIOS on startup - set shared video RAM to the maximum amount. Be aware that this memory is not available for your programs and if you don't have a lot of RAM installed you may take a big performance hit because you'll be using virtual memory (hard drive space) more often.

Is there a reason why you are still using Service Pack 2? If you have adequate RAM (768 MB or more) and keep Automatic Updates disabled, SP 3 offers better performance and security. Also, newer driver versions are written with the assumption you are running SP3. Also, Microsoft often provides the newest drivers for name-brand hardware in their Windows Updates Optional Updates - this is easier than going to each vendor and searching their support and downloads pages. (You are no doubt aware that if you have Automatic Updates disabled you should keep a regular schedule for manually visiting Windows Updates - Microsoft is stuck in a defensive war with hackers and virus writers, and all Windows users are targets for the attackers.)

What Brand or Specs Of Videocard will Compatible to EMAXX MOTHERBOARD EMX-MCPC61M2-iCAFE

Hello

The onboard video is a NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE + n Force 430.

The motherboard has a PCI Express 16 slot so you can install virtually any modern video card as long as it is compatible with your Operating System.

This motherboard only has one PCI Express slot so you would not be able to add dual video cards (SLI or Crossfire setups).

Try to Update the Nvidia driver by downloading it to NVidia Website. if you still have the same problem it might be some application/programs running in the background. you may check task manager> processes and see if what processes are running.

a 12 year old PC !!!
powers on, yes
all fans work, not stated and is 1st ,overheated is bad.
PSU fan, CPU fan and if present GPU fan all working perfectly
and heat sinks not packed lint as ALL DO 12 years old and never serviced. timely.

NO OS stated, you posted an old m7650n , PC. desktop
then fail to say its XP the dead OS and virus magnet?
no screen stated, is the screen old to, Monitor with old Dead
or near dead CCFL tubes (blackground)
what we do on all relics this old
1: test the monitor on a good PC?
or
2; test the PC on know good Monitor.?
easy no/?? simple tests, 1/2 the problem solved.

all that above from word "FADES" (wish could see it and watch)
lets say (i toss a coin) that the monitor is good.
PC bad.
PC needs a good power supply next.
what VGA jack are you using ,most desktop ,or many
have 2 jacks, one is main, board video
other is add-in board PCI card video, which one are you using
i cant see it.
ever see the PC run ok for a week? or just found this at garage sale. for $5?
matters big time as others tend to mess up parts inside guessing.
One error is not using the upgraded video card power aux jack
for 2 reasons, dont understand it, or forgot or the PSU doesnt
have that extra ATX2 wired power cable, rendering the aux vga card useless...... see how easy it is to mess up video.just that.

is the MOBO RTC coin cell good, over 2.9vdc with a meter?
if not get rid if that first. never seen one this old good , me.

then get the BIOS screens working first, forget the OS. for now.
then we can work that.. BIOS screens HOLD good.
no fade in BIOS??????

still has PS/2 keyboard, if yes, HP keyboard? still?
try another keyboard, in cases keys are stuck? !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if the screen does not fade in bios, then say that ,
as that is a whole other set of problems and causes.

facts: HP Pavilion Media Center TV m7650n Desktop PC this PC does have onboard mobo integrated graphic. runs the
(NARRA2-GL8E)
as seen here

https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01080282/

that GPU there is.
Integrated graphics using nVidia GeForce 6150SE

the page states

*Integrated video is not available if a graphics card is installed.
  • Integrated graphics using nVidia GeForce 6150SE
  • Up to 256MB (with 512MB or more PC memory)
  • Also supports PCI Express x16 graphics cards*
that 2nd bullet means main ram must be good. try swapping ram
if 2 DDR sticks try each one at a time, in bank 0?

if using express video now is the time to say. thanks.

Have a Dell 531 Inspiron 4400+ Desktop with a Nvidia GEForce 6150SE. Would like to upgrade graphics card???

hello, according to wiki your Dell 531 is same as 530 except for the nvidia chipset.
ATI Radeon HD 4670 is recommended for this system without adding too much of extra burdun on the power supply.
rest also depends on how much are you looking to invest in a graphic card. below is link for newegg's graphic section:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=40000048&Description=pci%20express%20video%20card&name=Desktop%20Graphics%20%2f%20Video%20Cards

after you have the card follow this sequence(unless ofcourse you know excatly what to do)
1 go in BIOS and change graphic card priority from onboard first to PCI express.
2. turn off system install the new card, switch the vga/dvi cable to the new card and startup the system.
3. upgrade drivers with provided cd.

let me know if you have any questions.
good luck

When you install a new video card you must disable the onboard video card by going into the bios setup. Below I have listed the requirements of Second life game. e 531 does come with PCI-E slots so make sure you buy a VIDEO card with PCI-E Walmart sells some pretty decent priced Graphics cards. pretty much any pci-e card you buy new in walmart these days will be fine for this game.

PC Minimum System Recommendations:

* Internet Connection*: Cable or DSL

* Computer Processor: 1.6GHz Pentium 4 or Athlon 2000+ or better

* Computer Memory: 512MB or better

* Video/Graphics Card**:
o nVidia GeForce FX 5600, GeForce 6600, or better
o OR ATI Radeon 9600, X600, or better

Video Driver

The motherboard for that unit has Integrated graphics using nVidia GeForce 6150SE Up to 256MB (with 512MB or more system memory)

it should already be setup for you. one way to check is by the following.

Right click on your desktop------>goto properties--->goto settings----->click on advanced----->click on Adaptor

it should say nVidia GeForce 6150se I think or similar and then give a bunch of adaptor information after the adaptor type.

Onboard video is only good for the basic programs out there but your board will also supports PCI Express x16 graphics cards

So either ram upgrades or video card upgrade to switch from onboard video would greatly help but if you are looking for the drivers for it hp/compaq do not have them listed on their website so you would have to do it from the restore startup when the computer starts but that basiclly will just format and re-install the whole operating system.

If you need more info please let me know and I will do my best to help with this issue.
