The reason for the lens failure of DVD players cannot be predicted. There are so many causes. may be fo manucaturing defect, low quality laser diode fitted inside, sudden overvoltage in secondary supply rail of the player, long reading of unrecogonized disc inserterd and so on. The exact cause is still unknown. OK.

Dvd player tell me disk error

this could be aproblem with the lens which is unable to read the disk. this could be caused by accumulation of dirt on the disk sensor. open up the cover of the dvd player to access the lense and clean gently with a lense cleaner(a liquid purposely meant for cleaning the lense) apply this liquid on a soft piece of cloth and clean. close back the cover and power the dvd player it should now be able to load the disk

Disk won't load

First make power reset.
  • Switch off your DVD, remove power card from wall out-let. Then connect again and power-up.
  • Use CD/DVD lense cleaner to clean the lense.
  • Then try out.

When ever I insert a dvd into my fisher dvd player it says no play

Try cleaning the lense of the laser. Small hairs get attracted and bend the light, causing missread. this clean has to happen manually, cleaner disks do not get down into the recessed lense area.

Lg dp 781 is saying no cd when there is a cd in it and then sometimes it says disc error. we have played the cd's that are in it a million times before. help

Look closely, with lots if light and magnifying glass, at the pickup lense. Static attracts teeny tiny fibers and they bend the light and cause read errors. Also, smoking covers lense sometimes. Can be cleaned with rubbing alcohol and swab. I think that cd cleaning disks cannot actually clean as the lense is recessed.

If the driver was the problem, the drive itself would not likely be seen at all. The message idicates that the disc can not be read. It is possible that the optics have failed, but normally there would be an indication of this prior to complete failure. Try cleaning the lens using a coton swab and alcohol. This should resolve the problem.

Update this if the problem continues.

I have LG CD RW/DVD CD-ROM Combo Driver and my problem is that i can play CDs. When i insert DVD its showing blank or no DVD in the drive. How can I slove this?

It is your lense related issue.
You can clean your lense with disk cleaner disk purchase disk cleaner disk and put in dvd rom then play it.then it clean your lense.
But if still problem remains then your lense has issue.
So if your dvd rom in warrenty then take it to service center and replaced it .
It is is not in warrenty then you need to repair or replaced lense.

My dv s5770 (yamaha)takes a long time to read the disc, if it does at all. sometimes it plays, other times it stops and skips to the next track/chapter. It goes from reading to dvd to info on the display...

The lenses of your dvd has a dust on it. You need to buy a cd cleaner , or you have to open the dvd and locate the lenses. Clean the lenses using cotton buds with alcohol.

Your Lense has some issue.
You can clean your lense with disk cleaner disk.
Pur chase it from nearest shop it is called "Lense cleaner disk"

If still not access your dvd then if it is in warrenty go to service shop they replaced it.
And if it is not in warrenty then you should need to repair your lense or purchase new lense.

DVD Disc Drive

So farit seems that the laser lense or the laser coil is bad. I found my lense chipped. One site indicated this is because of the use of "bad" DISCs that cause the laser diode to overload because of repeated attempts to read the bad disk. The coil and/or diod get hot and burn. I don't know how my lense got chipped!?
