Hunter Park Hill Type 2 fan light problem. When light is on for awhile and turned off it will not come back on. When remote is pressed to turn fan on the light blinks and light does not turn on. Looks like after a period of cool down light can be used again.

SOURCE: I have 2 of the same Hunter Douglass ceiling fans

if problems with blinking lights, remove watt governor on inside of fan for the lights.its a black box, white to white wire and black to red wire. and wire it direct without watt governor or black box. this should fix the problem. the part # 98480-02 for watt governor. they installed watt governors on ceiling fans to reduce light wattage.

Directions to reprogram hunter 952g

You need remote control.

Go to your circuit breaker or fuse box, and turn off the power to the fan you will be programming.

  • 2 Turn the fan's remote control over, and remove the battery compartment cover. Take out the remote's 12-volt alkaline battery, and set it aside.
  • 3 Match the DIP switches inside the remote's battery compartment with the DIP switches on the fan's receiver unit.
  • 4 Reinsert the 12-volt alkaline battery into the remote's battery compartment, and replace the battery compartment cover.
  • 5 Go back to your circuit breaker or fuse box, and turn the power to your fan back on.
  • 6 Press the "Hi," "Med" and "Lo" buttons on the remote control in quick succession. Complete this step within 20 seconds of completing Step 5. The remote is now programmed and ready to operate your fan.

Hunter ceiling fan (model no. 25736) and light not starting

Home Depot sells universal remote systems (transmitter and receiver) for around $30 (in Delaware & Pennsylvania) -- don't know price in Chicago).

I'd just replace it. Hunter may be correct that they are the only source for the receiver, but if you get a new transmitter as well, you don't need their receiver. The labor is the same either way.

We have 2 Hunter ceiling fans with remotes. We can get the one in the bedroom to work great but the one in the living room now will not turn on the fan or light. Also when we are trying to get the living...

The remote might have wrong orders. Get the battery out and insert it back and see if the problem solved.
Do you set the dip switchs correctly on the fan and on the remote? Numbers set must be matched. Otherwise, the fan won't work either.

Hunter ceiling fan. Lights and fans turn on and off by themselves. Both fans are on the same wall switch and are operated by separate remotes.

I just installed a 2nd hunter fan model 23811 that also seems to be controlled by grimlins. If the power is left on, the light and fan randomly turn on and off. And no, it is not due to fans being on the same frequency. It appears to be an issue with the control module. I'm contacting Hunter.
