It sounds like you only reset your phone settings.
To restore you phone to its orginal state you will have to perform a hardware reset.
Note that this will remove EVERYTHING you put on the phone since you got it.
It should not affect the contacts stored on your SIM card but it might be a good idea to remove the SIM card before this reset. Not all phones will turn on without a SIM so you may not be able to do this.
