Question about Home Security
If you are referring to Microsoft Windows in a PC-based system, call the toll-free registration number given in the screen asking for the registration key. You may have to navigate to a live operator and explain the situation unless they have added an option to cover it, but you can get a new product key. The old key is registered with the original motherboard, so it is no longer valid. I recommend making a label with the new key printed on it and sticking it to the computer case next to the original Certificate of Authenticity.
If Windows is properly registered but your security software is likewise giving you grief over its registration, you will have to contact your security software vendor - they may be using a similar license protection scheme.
