> Put the Windows CD in your optical media drive and Restart you PC.
> It would say that you have to press a button/key in order to boot from your bootable CD, do so by pressing any key on your keyboard.
> PC would load the required files from the CD and you'll be presented with menu from where you can either Install, Repair your already existing Windows Installation.
> If you want to fix something on your PC Repair will be thew right option for you but in case you are really willing to Format and Install your Windows from scratch select Install. Windows will show you that you have already an instance of Windows present. Ignore it and move on, in the next menu you'll be able to delete and format partitikons on your HDD.
> Format C: as it is the partition which holds the operating system.

>> I assume you are using Windows XP or above.

You need to set the boot device to CD-Rom in your BIOS and boot to the windows XP CD. I have included a video to help out more.

How to reformat PC

Boot to your XP Pro OS CD and hit enter to load OS. Hit f8 to accept agreement. Delete present partition and you'll get an option to format the C drive and load a fresh version of XP. If you don't want to load XP again- boot to the XP disk and go into the Recovery console - after logging in, type format at the C: prompt.

Insert XP CD into drive, reboot pc pressing F1 button.. This takes you into BIOS, change your primary boot device to CDrom, save changes and reboot. Select boot from CD once this appears and wait for files to be installed. Select the part of the hard drive you wish to use for your operating system (usually the largest) and select partition this drive. Delete any previous os, and reformat hard drive. (Be aware this removes everything saved on your hard drive, so always back up first) Re boot afterwards and reinstall operating system.
Hope this helps

Windows not booting

Hello,

Regarding on your problem, the main issue their is the booting problem of XP after you delete the fedora operating system. That's common problem especially when the computer are in dual boot OS then you delete the other OS. Now, the reason why it usually fall into this problem its just because the XP is your core OS then you install Linux Fedora inside in XP so whatever changes you have done in fedora particularly deleting Linux OS inside XP affects the overall performance of your XP and eventually if you delete the Fedora without proper unistallation process done by Linux OS then the Boot Loader of your XP will also corrupt or delete that's the main cause of boot failure in your XP OS. Now the best solution there is to repair your XP by inserting the XP CD Installer and boot the CD to repair your OS or you can reinstall the XP OS without formatting the storage to prevent the lost of your data that has not yet already copyed a back up.

Please do this recommendation to save and restore your XP.

thanks

My laptop was corrupted. what will I do? I cannot open it...DO I have to reformat it?

1. If you have OS, XP, or Vista you have to insert it and try to click repair. See it heals. If it doesn't you have 50/50 chance of retrieving files in your laptop.
2. If it can't be opened. try to run DOS and reformat drive. second option is insert OS for reformat.

Thanks

Installing Windows XP in place of Kylin OS

If you have a copy of MS-Dos should work. The hard drive needs to be reformatted. This should change the File Allocation Table (Fat) and allow you to install Windows XP. Hope this helps.
