The gas in the carb might bad might need to take apart and bolw out with some air and carb cleaner there are very tiny holes and the gas builds up a yellowish scale that can bolck the tiny holes i recomend a carb kit wich will give you new gaskets there are two adjustment screws on the carb if you take the spark plug out and it is wet you are getting to much gas and flooding it out try to turn the screws in if the screws have the little plastic caps on them remove them this will allow you to adjust the gas to the carb there is a hi and low the low is idle speed turn just enough so the chain dosent spin hi hold throttle down and adjust out till it will get wide open and sound clean no missing or struggling. i can post some photos of a chain saw taken apart to help you if you need it . please let me know if ther is any thing else i can do to help

I have been using my Husqvarna yth2348all summer now it wont start. There is spark and fuel going to carb. There was a huge mouse nest. Checked carb bowl it was clean. Any suggestions?

Hi Todd:
Here's a couple of things I would do.
1) See if there is a drain plug on the carb, If there is, drain it so that you will be getting fresh fuel into it.
2) Remove the air filter cover, then remove the air filter make sure it is clean. Replace if it's really bad.
3) Squirt a bit of fresh gas into the throat of the carb, put the air filter back in place, and try to start. Usually it will be good and run. If it doesn't, youre not getting spark. If it runs a bit and then dies, you're not getting gas. Try the prime trick a few times. If it still won't keep running you'll need to take the carb apart and clean it.

My Husqvarna model 38096 will not stay running. Cleaned carb, new plug, new gas.

Hi Sonny:
This is the chainsaw section but I think you're playing with a lawnmower, right?
You're saying that it won't stay running. That tells me that it does start, so the spark is OK, and I'd be looking for a fuel delivery problem. Since you cleaned the carb, I'd be looking at a plugged fuel filter or possibly bad fuel.

***** 575 wont run when saw is turned sideways

check fuel hose and fuel filter position in fuel tank, if filter is stuck at top of tank saw will run out of fuel, also is hose has a crack or break it will not run properly.

Engine cranks no start key on engine off rpm reeds 575

i want to buy comma's so bad.
Engine cranks, but it don't start,
with key on,
engine off rpm reeds 575. (im cluesless here)
reads RPM 575 , not running and how pray tell did you
resolve the 5 at the end? what device showed that?
digital tacho or a scan tool? or dash tach? please tell this.

that is a good input , if true. the tacho on many cars is from
the spark primary signal, and if dead the car will not start.
is this a N.American car/ (unstated?)

the first checks (we go from easy to harder, and more tools)
1:got spark?
2: got fueling if spark is good, the ECU cuts fuel if it even suspects bad spark is true.
never look for bad fueling if the ECU reports bad spark.
that takes a scan tool to see what the ECU thinks, and sees.
got a scan tool they only cost $7, here.

If engine compression is at spec. W.O.T.
and spark is good.
then test fuel works all above is good,(mostly), if test fuel works
and it don't start up and stay running, with a fast right foot.
then the fueling system parts are bad.
this works for carb cars or EFI , this part is no different.
old school to new.

see scotty do it.

If it still has a good spark it must be a fuel issue, replace the filter in the fuel tank check the fuel hose up to the carb for cracks or splits, if this does not help the next step is to service the carb, let me know if you need help with this.

St 824 1987 II can't get it started.

That tells you that you have spark and you have compression. Make sure your fuel is new and fresh and water free. Make sure your fuel filter is clean and fuel lines are in good condition. After making sure you have good fuel to the carb, remove and service the carb.

Husqvarna 142e will not stay running. Going through the sequence of full/half choke it will start and run at high rpm when choked. Even after warmed up, it will die within a few seconds after dropping the...

Hi,
If it is only running high at full choke - then it is not getting enough fuel.
You've cleaned out the whole thing - so it's not air that's the problem. It's running - so it's not a spark problem - it's a fuel problem.

If you have a fuel filter - change it out or clean it properly. If the fuel line is clear, then you need to adjust the running setting of the carb - there are usually 2 setting knobs -one for idle - one for running / mix.
You need it running richer till you get it going - then trim it back to stop it smoking and get a good rev.

Husqvarna 400 e series- I mixed the fuel 40-1 instead of 50-1

Hi
If you have good compression and spark at the spark plug try priming the engine(put some fuel mixture in the spark plug hole),set the carb adjustment(highh speed H=3/4 turn and lowspeed L=1 1/4 turn, turn the scews clockwise until the end and then set them.Try to start the engine. If it runs only the gas you puted inside the cilinder and then stops you have a fuel delivery problem to find and fix.First disassembly ,check and clean the carb. Then the fuel filter and the hoses.Let me know. best regards savumihai71

Saw will not start Husqvarna 350

Hi

An engine needs three things to run(fuel and air mixed together in the correct proportions, compresion of the fuel/air mixture and ignition).Make carb adjustments, check the compression and the spark from the sparkplug.Priming the engine(put some gas into the sparkplug hole).Try to start the engine. If engine is running only the gas from the cilinder, the chain saw has a fuel delivery problem.Disassembly the carb and clean the inner parts.Check the fuel and air filters, fuel hose and gas tank ventil.

good luck!savumihai71
