Hi,

i would suggest that you clean the board with contact cleaner. Could be alot of dust and dirt that could be causing that problem.

George.

The back light won't turn on and the volume is turned all the way up but the buttons won't work for me to turn it down. I had to take the whole thing out

Assuming your deck is a kdc 516s the flexible cable that goes from the face to the main motherboard is probably bad. If you are not good at desoldering and soldering. , I would suggest you have it replaced by a professional.

Pioneer vsx82txs turn volume way up and shuts off. phase control flashes, now it won't turn on at all. could powered subs destroy it?

One of your speakers must
be internally shorted. Go into the MMAC menu and turn off one speaker at a time
until you can volume up without having a receiver shut down. DO NOT DISCONNECT
1 SPEAKER AT A TIME OR YOU WILL DESTROY THE AMPLIFIER STAGE OF YOUR RECEIVER!

Unit won't turn on. There's power to the outlet but the reciever just won't light up! Sony STR-DE 197 It's only a couple of years old and shows no damage.

Failure of the the power source. To see if it's fixable the receiver will have to be opened and the power board tested . This job requires at least a basic experience in electronics - if you don't posses it all you can do is to look for a burned fuse or damaged capacitors. For them follow this

I have a JVC RX 554v Receiver when it's turned on I have no sound their is a mute auto light that's lit in the window....Tried changing the speaker wires with no results...

From the remote control only: Press MUTING to turn off the sound through all speakers and headphones connected. "MUTE" appears on the display and the volume turns off. To restore the sound, press MUTING again. Turning MASTER VOLUME or pressing VOLUME +/- also restores the sound.

My remote will not cut on my Bose Cinemate system. I have changed the batteries in my remote and the red light on the receiver is illuminated, so I know the system is operational, . I've also unplugged...

It seems to be a common misconception that the remote is necessary to turn a device on. All devices have hard-wired power controls. Does THAT work? It is unclear which device (remote or the Cinemate) is malfunctioning. If the Cinemate won't turn on by its own power switch the remote won't magically bypass whatever the problem is.

The Cinemate Manual offers some steps to take if it won't turn on, as well as other guidance.

I've got a vsx-920-k Pioneer receiver with s-11 Pioneer speakers and a s-21w Pioneer subwoofer. All of a sudden my sub stopped working and it seems like it's stuck in standby mode (blue light...

The manual is here...

Flashing Blue is not defined in the manual.

Have you tried changing the Auto Standby switch to ON?

You can prove if the sub amp will respond to a known good input by TURNING ITS VOLUME DOWN tp start and just feeding it ANY RCA output from the receiver while playing, say, FM (to keep it simple). That way you would known in which direction the problem actually lies (internal or external).

All of a sudden our receiver stopped working. The display looks fine, but there is no sound.

Turn the volume control to something medium.

The errant switch, control or condition may change and you will suddenly release the amp's full power and possibly destroying your speakers. If a signal isn't audible at 1/2 volume it's probably not there.

Carefully examine the front panel for clues like a misplaced Source Selection, Mute, Tape Monitor control or Multichannel Analog Input selected.

If you have an aha moment turn the volume to something reasonable and see if that helped.

Harman Kardon AVR210 - got power, lights, FM/AM stations, but no sound ?

NEVER USE MAXIMUM VOLUME FOR TROUBLESHOOTING.

Turn the volume control to something medium.

The errant switch, control or condition may change and you will suddenly release the amp's full power and possibly destroying your speakers. If a signal isn't audible at 1/2 volume it's probably not there.

Carefully examine the front panel for clues like a misplaced Mute or Tape Monitor control or Multichannel Analog Input selected.

There is a good chance that a common control may have developed a high-resistance or 'dead' spot through idleness and is causing your symptom. Turn the POWER OFF and operate every control throughout its range a number of times, especially rarely-used ones like Tape Monitors and the Mute control.

Turn the volume to something reasonable and see if that helped.
