Question about Garden

1 Answer

Help, I have a Model 315.242130 Router. The motor housing body(plastic) has been worn thru use and when I had it attached to my table saw with router attachment(also sears) it became clogged with wood chips and dust. When adjusting the height I had to use a rubber strap wrench to adjust it. When I finally got it dislodged from the casing the plastis threads were damaged. Also the spring circlip which kept the spindle lock button disengaged became engaged and destroyed the end housing. I brought it to the local sears parts store only to find that the parts are unavailably. The router worked fine up to the time the shaft engaged in the spindle. Is there another model that uses the same bottom end.

These were made by Diehl Manufacturing Co In 1988 the Motor Products Division of Diehl was acquired by Japanese power tool maker Ryobi, Ltd., becoming the basis of Ryobi's new U.S. operations, Ryobi Motor Products Corp.; Ryobi took over supply of products to Sears Craftsman, retaining the 315 manufacturer code.

So... it appears you can use a Ryobi part. this may sound sarcastic but.. even as a seasoned expert we could spend hours searching ryobi router parts and still not find you a 100% match.

Spend some time using this page and see if you find a match:
http://www.ereplacementparts.com/ryobi-router-parts-c-7931_8117.html
Click on the individual corded router links.

Just trying to help you,
Kelly

Hi Gary. I don't think you looked at the ereplacementparts link as that was for routers. The reason your seeing chainsaw on the heading is because somehow during your posting chanisaws got selected. My response was about routers. Take a look at the corded routers on that page one at a time. (rt click and open in a new tab or window from the linked page) One of them might be a match for your Sears routher beings that since 1988 they have been made by Ryobi. Dint a net search and service provider search just using this model number 315.242130 is a big dead end also. Searspartsdirect certainly was no help. I think this is your only shot at finding a match.

My delta table saw keeps blowing the circuit breaker on the saw. It does not sound quiet and smooth like usual. I got a good blade its on tight what could this be?

a bad centrifugal starter or inside capacitor and or the electric field if an old type with induction motor , but if it has carbon brushes in the motor instead of an induction motor the commutator on the armature short brushes or a bad bearing(s) on the motor or other gearbearings on the saw drive are worn , it must have a smooth turn if turn on the armature if remove the field /motor house.. look in the motor if running at the end if the carbon brushes you see are make to much sparks a worn bearing without the balls or bad armature collectors or electric field . watch if the bearing is worn by blue hot it can have melting the seat in the motor house replace it all.

How do you install a ridgid router to a craftsman router table?

Brenda, They are just saying that if the router is too big, it won't fit. The sub-base is the plastic, usually black, disc on the bottom of the router. This disc is about 6 inches in diameter and about 3/16 inches thick. It is usually held onto the base of the router with three screws. The base is the big aluminum piece about the size of half a loaf of bread that has the handles and into which the router main part (the motor) slides into. For most router tables, you mount a router base (with the sub-base removed) to the underside of the table with screws. The router table becomes a giant upside-down sub-base. If your base fits, and the screw holes line up, you are good to go. However, it is very helpful to have an extra router base (without handles) to leave permanently attached to your router table so that you can easily swap the router between the table and normal use. Good luck!

How to replace brush holders on dewalt table saw dw745

There is a small allen screw in the field housing holding the brush holders in.
Most often I have found, if the brush holders are needing replacement the motor housing also needs replacement - they heat up and the plastic cracks.

I have a 10'mastercraft table saw with the carbon brush gone, and cannot not find one no place, cannot find a scrap one anywhere could you help

Try this link. If that doesn't work, see if the motor has a manufacturer or model number on it, or if the old brushes have a number stamped on them and use that to search online. Go to google and search "motor brushes" Good luck.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.

My saw will start. It has always run quite well,

If it hums but doesn't turn it is almost certainly the starter capacitor which is fairly easy and cheap to replace . Usually a metal or plastic cylindrical object attached to the motor or sometimes inside the switch housing. Buy a replacement from Electronics store or from the makers of the machine.
If it does not hum and you have checked fuses then the switch is probably the trouble and switcheds dont like dusty environments at the best of times.

Manual for #103.0205 circ. saw

Earlier comment 103.0205 Table Saws does not need lubrication is simply wrong.

The103.0202, 103.0203, 103.0305 Craftsman Companion Table Saws main Arbor axle DOES have to lubricated or else the axle bearing will quickly loosen side-to-side or vertically and fail to provide accurate saw cuts.

FWIW, Sears no longer sells Arbor Axle replacement parts... The Table Saw Arbor axle and Bearing Housing cannot use sealed bearings unless the saw case is re-milled and extensively modified. There are 2 Oil Hole Plugs (part# 475-32) that need to be opened and oil applied so the Arbor axle shaft does not get scored or worn.

I use 30wt motor oil to relube the Arbor Axle Shaft depending on amount of use, temperature, and axle rotation stiffness.

Remember, the higher the RPM speed of the table saw motor and/or the longer the use, the more frequently you may need to relube the Arbor Axle Bearing!

Bosch 4000 table saw won't work

OK sounds like you are handy. You have electric to the brush tubes? (first unplug saw to test) If yes then I would remove the brushes to see if they were making contact with the commutator. Does the blade spin freely? If not you might have a bearing problem. I would again use air after removing the brushes and then reinsert making sure they seat on the armature. If still nothing then if you are comfortable I would pull the motor housing. But before pulling go to Bosch Tools website and downloading a breakdown of your saw. Let me know if I can help
