What does code E68 mean?

Hello Erik;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service appliance technician.

The code E68 appears when one of the buttons on the keypad is stuck in the down position. This is a common error with several different Frigidaire dryer models and tends to occur when the dryer is five or more years old. You may be able to un-stick the offending key manually. If not, you will need to replace the entire keypad.

What does error code E68 mean?

Hello Friend, this is Z. Thank you for your question!

If you are getting an error code E68 on your Frigidaire dryer, it usually indicates that one of the keys (buttons) is stuck closed (active). Let's perform Key Test to determine which button is at fault by entering "Function Test Mode". To perform the "Function Test Mode", doing the following:

Press and hold the START and CANCEL button at the same time for roughly 10 seconds. The stuck key should blink.

Carefully free the key and perform the test again after proper diagnosis. If button is free but the error code still exists, the electronic control will more than likely need replacing after proper diagnosis.
.
If you do not have a professional connection, you have the option to visit the manufacturer website to find a service provider in your area.

Hope this helps!

Model lde8414ace maytag dryer

There is something causing the drive motor to bog down. This means the fan isnt spinning fast enough and the whole unit is overheating. Check for anything around the edges of the drum, coins keys etc. The squeal is the belt from the drum being stuck. See how hard it is to turn by hand.

"LOC". As I turn the dial to the requested setting, all the times (15min. 55 min., etc.) are displayed, but as I go to push the 'start' button, the screen says, "LOC",...

Hi, "LOC" indicates that the control panel settings are locked. Press the SELECT and OPTION button simultaneously to toggle this 'feature' on or off. Hope this helps.

My dryer will begin a cycle and less than a minute into it, it stops, chimes three times, and on the display screen, says "to." It does not turn off, or continue drying. How can I fix it?

t0 means that one of the thermistors have failed and needs to be replaced. There are 2 of them and it is recommended that they be replaced together. Good luck.

My dryer stopped working this morning. The light to the on switch is "on," meaning it's red. But everything else looks dead: The start button doesn't have a light. And, the display panel is...

If it there is power in the system (red light on power swithch),yet the dryer does not run - with a totally blank LED screen (no error message), the controller board may be out. You can snap in a new one (remove the top of the dryer, take picture to make sure you know where the wires go) remove from clips n replace. Only thing, it'll cost you $220 to buy a new one. Try repairclinic.com - if it doesn't work you can return for full refund.
