Question about Sport & Outdoor - Others

The primer pump for starting my Husqvarna weed trimmer does not reinflate after I have pushed it. I am supposed to prime it a few times before starting and I can't get it started. What do you suggest?

Most likely Mo Most likely something is stopped up.Check the fuel filter in the gas tank first. If you have two lines running to the tank ,make sure both are clear. Some times you have to disassemble the carb and blow it out with compressed air.

Sounds like bulb not seated well...check to make sure it has all seals in place. Some pop in, some seal with a rubber seal.

My weed trimmer runs good untill i start trimmimg the weeds and then it dies.

How old is it.? could be plugged air filter, faulty tank vent, leak in the fuel line between tank and primer, dirty filter, blocked main jet, pump diaphragm damaged. Could be any number of problem.

I replace the gas line, fule filter spark plug and the primer. The weed eater will start and run for about a min. Then it will go off and I can not start it back

Sounds like you will need to clean your carburetor.
Sometimes you can get by with priming it a few times, and letting it
run a few times like that and it will flush the gunk out of the jets,
but most of the time you will need to rebuild the carburetor.
If the mower is over a couple years old, then I also recommend that you
buy and install a new carburetor repair kit, because the diaphragm will
get hard and that will cause it to be hard to crank.
When you clean your carburetor and remove the jet screws, count the
number of turns it takes to seat the jets from their original position.
That way when you go to put the jets back in, you know how many turns
they were in/out.
Please rate me, Thanks
Good Luck, I hope this helped

Can,t prime fuel with primer ball on my weed eater XT 400, lots of fuel and lines look good

be sure the line in the tank did not disconnect. that would cause you to pump all you want but never get a drop.

This sounds like the carb needs to be adjusted like it is letting to much fuel into the cylinder. There is supposed to be fuel and air mixture in the cylinder to make it fire. If there is to much fuel what will happen is that it will just build up in there and the air wont get hot enough as it compresses to start the engine.
