Hello, welcome to FixYa.

I'll start by saying your post indicates it is Frigidaire frontload washer, however if you could post the complete model number I can speak directly about possible remedies instead of generalizing.

I can tell you most Frigidaire frontload washers do not have a filter in the pump, but rather the hoses must be removed and the pump physically cleaned and visually inspected for blockages etc...
but I'll need to clarify the model number before detailing much of course. Thank you for choosing FixYa. I'll need to watch for your reply before moving forward.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

    Hello again,

Thank you for replying, if it's Affinity that should be accurate enough. There is a "pin trap" or "lint filter" in the bellows which leads from the tub to the pump, though it does require removing the hose from the tub to access it...not as straight forward as most "removable filters" of most modern frontload washers.

If you go in from the back as you mentioned, you'll need to remove the large clamp on the bellows as shown here...

Inside the bellows you'll find a hard plastic strainer/lint catcher that can and does often get clogged, which as a result prevent the unit from draining sufficiently to spin.

Once it is time to re-install the bellows make sure you allign it correctly with the small notch in the bellows (shown below via red arrow) and insuring the clamp is not tightened down over the notch on the tub as this will cause it to leak.

Let me know how you make out and we can move forward from here if necessary. Good luck.

**I'll also mention the most common reason these Frigidaire washer won't spin is the lock assembly being faulty, so if it will not spin after you perform this procedure let me know...even if the lock indicator shows it is locked...that can be mis-leading.**

    Regards,

    Macmarkus :)

Hi, Just a quick note to you, I am checking up on my earlier post via my iphone ( I was on my PC previous ) and I don't see the images I posted but rather a couple of digital controls. If this what you are seeing that may be confusing so let me know and I'll investigate into why. The weird part is the images appeared fine when I checked from my PC a couple of hours ago.

    Thank you.

    Regards,
    Macmarkus :)

My calypso machine leave alot of lint on clothing

you have to clean the lint trap before every use. I assume that you know that. also , you need to clean the area where the lint trap is really good, so you dont have a dryer fire.

Lint trap

First you need to remove three screws on the front lower panel. This will expose a round "plug" to your right. This is the lint/drain trap. Place a bucket under the plug. Slowly unscrew this plug and aloow the water to drop into the bucket. Make sure your plug is clean and reset it.

LInt filter

Find you owners manual, it should say how to clean the button trap on your pump

Unplug the machine FIRST!

Get some towels, you will have water coming out.

if the tub is full of water you will need to bale it out!

Remove the lower front panel, usually two screws,

look for the pump it will have hoses on it. now lay some towels around, expect water.

Unscrew the end of the pump, if it has a button trap or lint filter.
it will be on or near the pump refer to your owners manual

If you dont have an owners manual you may find it at Samsung.com?

Will not drain or spin

There is another posted problem similar to this one if you look at GE front-loading washers.  I can tell you right now, though, that we just cleaned the filter (had the same problem as you) and everything is working perfectly now.  The bottom panel (on the front) of your washer comes off by removing 3 screws.  Our filter was full of lint, change, barrettes, etc.  I would highly recommend looking for that other post (has more information) or trying to clean the filter.  Hope this helps!
