Hi your camera body doesn't have live view function. About auto focus you should check lens AF/M switch position. and still not working? then would you let me know more detail how does not work? (like any noise, or broken gear) Actually canon bundle lens has a lot problem. what kind of lens you have? etc.. Thanks and best regard!

How do i connect the camera so i get live feed to my laptop. There are only USB inputs on the laptop.

You can't do this. You should attach the camera to the telescope, use the telescope focus wheels to focus after switching on Live View on the camera. You can also use the magnification 5x, 10x function.

I can't see the proposed picture on the LCD monitor.. How do I get that to show?

Unlike compact point and shoot cameras, Canon EOS D-SLRs don't have the LCDs stay on all the time due to the design of the SLR camera which involves a mirror being in the way of the image and the sensor.

To use "Live View" (composing shots with the LCD), there is an option in the Menu (2nd yellow tab, then Live View Fn Settings) to enable it. Once enabled, press the centre "SET" button behind the camera to activate the LCD. However, the camera can't Auto Focus in Live View mode so manual focusing is needed.

My canon eos 100D wont's show the image on the screen. it will take the picture when looking through the view finder, but i would like it to appear on the screen. pleae help

Unlike compact point and shoot cameras, Canon's range of EOS D-SLRs don't have the LCDs stay on all the time. The design of the SLR camera involves a mirror in front of the sensor. The mirror in its normal position inhibits the image to be captured by the image sensor. When you shoot, the mirror flips up for a split second and back to its rest position.

To use "Live View" (composing shots with the LCD), there is an option in the Menu to enable it. Once enabled, press the centre "Select" button behind the camera to activate the LCD. However, the camera can't Auto Focus for you in Live View mode so manual focusing input is required of the photographer.

Is the lcd screen only used to view pictures that have already been taken?

Yes. If you want to see what you're going to shoot on the screen, you need to get a camera with "live view".

The LCD monitor doesn't show the image that the viewfinder shows. The screen is black.

To do this you need to activate Live view mode (Only works in non-Auto modes P to A-Dep). Press the SET button well in one of these modes, use the Button marked with a star to Focus.

Also you made need to Turn on Live View in the settings Menu.

How do i get pichture in 3

You need to read the manual. Use the Custom function(7 I think) to enable Live View. Now when you use the SET button you can see the image on your LCD. Use * button to use Auto Focus

The LCD does not come on when camera is turned on. How do I fix this.

The EOS 350D does not have a Live View function like the compact point and shoot cameras (Panasonic Lumix, Powershot, IXUS etc). You need to look through the viewfinder to compose your shot. The LCD only displays menu settings and images you have already captured (Play Button). Later models of EOS D-SLRs come with Live View but still doesn't have auto focus and you have to focus manually (eg EOS 450D, EOS 40D, etc)

Have a canon rebel eos and when I turn the camera on the only ting that shows up on the lcd is the auto description---how do I get it to just show what I want to take a photo of

These cameras won't show the picture on the screen until you've taken the photo, they don't work the same way as point and shoot cameras. So you have to use the viewfinder. Unless your model has live view in which case it's still pretty fiddly and I wouldn't recommend it.

Canon eos xs digital camera, live view not working

It is actually kind of complicated to activate it. If I remember correctly You absolutely must have the camera in the P mode on the dial on top of the camera and then go into your menus and activate the live option. It should say enabled. That needs to be done only once. be sure though when ever you use it you have it in the P mode. to activate it once you have enabled it , all you have to do is press the set button on the back of your camera. and it should come on. also the live view is limited with auto focus. it is best used with manual focus.

I have a canon eos 450d which on the display screen only shows the information I can't see what I can see through the view finder, help please.

you have to enable the live view from the menu. then press the set button on the center of the arrow keys.

when shooting with the live view on, auto focus will not work if you press the shutter button halfway, you should press the button marked '*' to make the auto focus work. the small rectangle on the lcd monitor will turn green when correct focus is achieved.
