First of all, here is the main ONLINE SUPPORT page for your model:

http://usa.yamaha.com/products/audio-visual/av-receivers-amps/rx/rx-v493_black__u/?mode=model

And here is a direct link to the ONLINE USER'S MANUAL for that model:

http://www2.yamaha.co.jp/manual/pdf/av/english/re/RX-V393.pdf

To view the Support Page or the Owner's Manual with Operating Instructions just use your mouse to click on the link, which is the underlined and highlighted text just above. This will open a new web browser page automatically for you and allow you to view the information at the website indicated and the contents of the Owner's Manual.

You may need ADOBE READER installed on your computer to read PDF documents.
You can download this free at WWW.ADOBE.COM if necessary.
Click on the DOWNLOAD ADOBE READER button on right side of the ADOBE home page when you get there, then follow the onscreen instructions to install the software on your computer.

You should just be able to use the TAPE REC AUDIO OUT (L/R) jacks on the back of the Yamaha 493 unit as your secondary amp's input signal. You might even be able to use the VCR AUDIO OUT (L/R) jacks as well. See page 8 of the manual for a detailed diagram of the rear connections on your set.

I hope that was helpful to you, good luck.

If you choose to rate this solution using the Thumbs Up scale provided, I thank you very much for your time and consideration.

Joe.

I want to hook two speakers (4ohm each) on rxv-671 on both L/R side. what is the best option to do that either parallel or serial? Also plz describe the method if any.

The best method is - DON'T. When you hook more than one speaker up to a single speaker output, it drops the impedance that the receiver sees and you risk blowing the amp. If you need to hook more than one up, do so through a speaker switch box. It will match the impedance correctly so the amp doesn't get damaged.

Yamaha rx-v2500 receiver how to hook up speakers

HI,

Follow these steps to connect a powered sub woofer to your receiver: You typically have two options when connecting a powered sub woofer. Input (1) on the rear of the sub woofer would be used when connecting the sub woofer to the receiver using speaker wires. You would then connect the main speakers to the opposite end, or output or the sub woofer to the main speakers. Option (2) would be using RCA line level output jacks, input (2) on the rear panel of the sub woofer directly to the single sub woofer output on the back of an AV receiver. blank.gif

I just purchased a Yamaha RX-V465 AV Receiver, and I cannot get any sound out of it except for when I have Tuner selected. I have my OPPO CD/DVD player hooked up via HDMI and via the stereo analog audio...

Also the test tone is working OK (Setup / Speaker Setup / Test Tone)? Have you used automatic speaker setup with the supplied YPAO microphone?
For HDMI, you need to configure the receiver to "take" out the audio from HDMI. Go to Setup / Function Setup / HDMI / Audio and select "Amp" to route the audio to receiver, or "Amp+TV" for audio to go both to receiver and to TV. You can also check in Options Menu / Signal Info that receiver has recongnized the sound and what format it thinks it is in.

Yamaha rxv-992 receiver wont power up

Disconnect all your speakers from the receiver. Turn the power on, and see if it stays on. If the unit shuts off with all the speakers disconnected, then you most likely have a faulty unit, and it will need to be repaired or replaced.

If the unit stays on with all the speakers disconnected, then you most likely have a bad speaker or a bad connection with the speaker wire.

Starting with one speaker, hook it up, and turn the unit on, and again see if the unit stays on, or if it shuts off. Do this until the unit shuts off when you connect a speaker.

Then disconnect all the other speakers, and leave the suspect speaker attached. Again, try to power up the unit. If it fails with that speaker attached, but works when it is not attached, then that speaker is your problem.

No zone 2 sound coming from yamaha amp rx-v861

Had same problem. A and B speakers are basically connected together, and there is no way to get the same volume out of each speaker. This is not a multi-source receiver like Onkyo. Zone 2 needs to go to a seperate amplifier and select teh correct source on the fornt,

Yamaha RX-V757

make sure you have not wired from box to speaker then to another speaker ,you should wire from switch box to one speaker then from box to another speaker, this presents the right load to the amp, if you have done this you may have a faulty switch box.

hope this helps.

Yamaha v-663 reciever

Most amps will only power two sets of speakers direcrly hooked to amp (A&B). If you want audio throughout the house, I would recommend a PA system set up with individual room volume controls
