If it used to have a good signal, then the problem isn't the antenna. here are some steps to help you
Reset the router, get a pen and find the reset button on the back, hold it down for about 10 seconds, this will do a factory reset on the device.
If that doesnt help, check to make sure you have the latest drivers. i dont know exactly what model you have, but it should be easy to find at linksys.com
If there is still no improvement, secure your wireless connection, it could be that a neighbor is leeching off your connection and disrupting your performance.
Thanks and good luck!

Try shifting the router to a higher channel, like 11. Default settings are congested frequencies in homes. With land line cordless reaching 1/2 a mile, it makes for spotty results. 11 seems to always work.

Sorry, for got the settings that I think are essential:

    Wireless Router settings:

It is usually easiest to run the install wizard, which you
can get from the manufacturers' website, usually for free, but be sure to be
ready to set the items listed below:

To get access, start your browser, and put 192.168.1.1 or
192.168.0.1, or other address for your unit, into the ADDRESS bar (not search
box) of your Internet Browser. Every unit has unique access login and
passwords, some are admin with no password, some are admin and admin...seek
access information from the website of the manufacturer of your unit. Look
under support, downloads, drivers or similar sounding areas.

    Things to set:

(Note: Routers are intended to be set by geeks. You have to
SAVE EVERY page before you leave it, or the changes will be lost. A geek knows
this (apparently). The router gives no protest...just dumps your changes. SAVE
    OFTEN.)

    1.
Login password (RECORD THIS!!). Consider taping
to bottom of the router. Physical access is typically NOT the security issue.

    2.
Set a recognizable system ID (descriptive name
is easier to find when you need to connect wirelessly).

    3.
Invoke wireless security of at least WEP.

    a.
Assign your own access code, 10 digit home or
cell #. Consider taping this information to bottom of the router. (Physical
access is usually not the security issue.)

    4.
Check that your router is set to broadcast its'
    presence.

    5.
Change the channel of the wireless to 11, and
avoid conflict with landline cordless phones. (Big issue, even the neighbors
    can interrupt).

There are more secure settings available, all the way down
to only allowing certain MAC addresses to have access. A MAC address is a digit
unique to each and every network card. Like a fingerprint. Most users do not
    set mac address limits.

I have a linksys E1200 can i increase the range ,slow at about 50 '

The strength of the signal is proportional to the SQUARE of the distance, e.g., 1 foot == 100%, 2 feet == 25%, 5 feet == 4%.

Move the router and the computer closer together, with fewer signal-blocking walls between the two devices.

Move the router onto the same floor (basement, main, upper) as the device.

How do I strengthen my wireless signal? I am using a Linksys router.

The easiest is to replace the small antenna with a higher gain one. You get some very effective 8+ db gain omni directional antennas for linksys on ebay, amazon etc.
If you are in one direction you can also use a Yagi antenna (Directional) with high gain (20+db gain)
Normally the problem is not just the router, but the connecting device as well.
Keeping in mind you have 2 way comms between 2 devices. The router and say a laptop. ideally you should upgrade both antennas. As the best antenna on an Linksys AP will not fix a weak laptop signal. (it will transmit better, and receive better, but the laptop should also transmit and receive better)
Hope it helps

I have an Edimax 802.11/n wireless adapter installed on a desktop. We moved and the new location barely picks up the signal from my Linksys access point. In my previous house, it did okay, although it was...

check your edimax setting for the adapter if teh wireless signal is the same as the routers chanel the edimax defaul channel is always set to chanel 1 for the signal of its wireless and if your router has a different channel most probably channel 11 or 6 which is the most likely chanel that many use

Linksys rouder suddenly stoped alowing other computers net access

I would recommend upgrading the router firmware, if you have not done this already.

Download the firmware file from the Linksys website:
http://www.linksysbycisco.com/US/en/support/

Typically, the upgrade is done by pointing your web browser at the IP address of the Linksys router. Linksys should provide specific instructions at the site above.

I have three computes connected to my router. Two in the same room and one in a room less than 30 feet away. The one in the next room has a low signal of two bars and I want to know how I can improve this...

You can buy a bigger antenna. You can find them on websites like directron, or any other computer website. It's called a high gain antenna. Wireless signals are greatly reduces when they have to go through certain surfaces, like walls, brick and the like. Another thing you can do it put the wireless router closer inbetween them. Or even up in the attic.

Xbox 360 wireless adapter not finding network

Hello Sir,

Reset your AX by holding a pin or pen tip and count to 20.
Plug Airport Express
Wait a few minutes

1. Open Airport Utility
2. Manual Setup
3. Airport Icon -> Wireless Mode -> Join a wireless network
4. Network Name -> Enter the SSID of your Linksys router
5. Choose the same wireless security that you are using on your Linksys Router
6. Wireless Password -> Enter the wireless key that is on your Linksys router.

In the Music Icon, you should be able to find "Enable iTunes"

AX will continue to blink for a bit, perhaps a minute, while it searches and connects to the Linksys Router.

Should turn green.

Good luck.
