I own a Sears Yard Machine riding mower and the rear tires are flat and I'm trying to remove the tire and take it to tire dealer to check for leaks and plug. My problem is HOW TO REMOVE THE REAR TIRES. Can you help?

There is a cap over the end of the axle, it snaps off. with the rear end jacked in the air remove the C-clip which you find under the cap. the wheels will then pull off. make sure you put them back on correctly, there is an inside and an outside. If you reverse it, you will rub a groove in the tire and it will go flat and have to be replaced and they cost more than car tires. And do not pull the wheel off in the lawn or in a gravel driveway. when the wheel comes off a small key will fall to the ground. you will need to re-install this key when you put it back together or the wheels will not move. if you lose the key into the grass or gravel you will have to go to a real hardware store or small engine repair shop to buy another.

How to remove the rear tire (flat)

If you can't get to the valve stem (from either side, it sounds like you have bigger problems than just getting the tire off. It sounds like you will need to break down the tire to reseat the tube in the proper placement.

Some mowers have studs and nuts like a car, and others use a cotter key and washer to hold it on (which is probably what you have since you had to ask how to remove the tire). The cotter key and washer is under a cap that just pulls off. You can use a small screw driver to work it out.

many wheels get stuck on the axle so if you remove the clip that holds the wheel to the axle and it does't come off just change the tire on the mower sounds harder to do but you don't break stuff trying

Rear wheel removal from craftman riding mower

Do you have the rim and tire off and you want to remove the hub?
I believe every rider mower and tractor I've had and worked on had the rear tire attached to the hub as in a car, with lug nuts or lug bolts. Check to see if there are four or five lug bolts that hold the rim onto the hub.

Removing tire from SEARS CRAFTSMAN LT1000 TRACTOR.

You need to remove the black rubber cap from the center of the wheel. Remove the "C" clip from the axle and the wheel should come off. The rear tires will have a square key in it. Do not loose the key.
